    Question ISO - crunchy SV

Just putting feelers out, looking over this winter for a poor neglected SV in the back of someone's garage.

It'll serve as a warhorse for up and coming racers, doesn't need to be new or shiny. Doesn't even really need to run, we can get it going.

Budget is somewhere in the $500-$1K range. Don't care about bodywork, will most likely run it naked.

Please speak up if you know of something kicking around.

    Thank you.

I have an SV made by gold and titanium. I know your budget is $500 but I'll let it go for $7500
Have you thought of a BMW 1000RR. Those are great bikes and you can easily find one for around $10k
Have you thought of a FWD with snow tires?

I'm sorry. I haven't fully detached myself from the orange mess yet.
Especially for the kind of $ numbers being mentioned here.

Mission accomplished, it's yellow and crunchy.

Looking for case covers, steel brake lines, clip ons, rearsets and shock. I have gsxr forks from my old 600 but need the rest for the front end.

If you have these things kicking around on your shelf, please shoot me a message so we can make this sv great again.

FYI, per rules you are NOT required to have case covers on a LW Twin, that being said its a great investment and I had them on mine.

    Re: ISO - crunchy SV

LRRS/CCS requires wider bikes (ie I4's) to have extra thick or reinforced side cases such that the cases do not crack or get ground open in a low-side and spill oil everywhere. Meanwhile that requirement does not exist on the twins, like the SV because the engine is so narrow that it is unlikely it will hit the track and spill oil.

Our chief international crash artist here feels that they are worthy of use, even on the twins.

Funfact. The clutch side "derby" cover on the gen 1 is actually plastic! No requirement to replace or reinforce. Most of the g1 SVs you see on grid have the factory cover.

Sorry, I misread it as 'you can not have case covers on sv650s'

Compressing the forks that much is sure to make the seals leak.

Well I don't think it'll matter given the shape those forks are in.

Where are all the superbike sv racers? Need to buy your stock forks, please. Can trade Chainwheel services like soft blowies and hot handies also.
