It's "BettenCourt's" (remember the guitarist Nuno Bettencourt from the 90's hair band 'Extreme', same family).

I would think his long time relationship with them would have landed him bikes and then some.

Jeff's Bettencourts deal was announced about 3 weeks ago.

About 3 months ago he wanted to start building a bike for Daytona, and at that point I betcha his 07 deal wasn't setup yet.

So you either buy a bike and build it yourself or sit on your butt for the first ASRA and AMA races of the year. Buying a 'new' salvage R6 for short money of Hobb's Automotive seemed to be the hot ticket. (Hobb's Automotive) PLUG PLUG

Jeff's Bettencourts deal was announced about 3 weeks ago.

About 3 months ago he wanted to start building a bike for Daytona, and at that point I betcha his 07 deal wasn't setup yet.

Thats where I get lost.

Jeff has ridden for Bettencourts for years. Just look at the side of his box truck, he's had those images on there for at least 3 years now. His relationship with that dealership was nothing new. He's been with them when riding for Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda--so the only question was which 'brand' he's be on this year.

The only thing that I 'got' out of that press release was that Arclight Suzuki wasn't racing with Jeff, and we also now know that team isn't around at all, which is quite a surprise after them being a player in either AMA, FUSA, or WERA national series.

There is a difference between a longtime relationship and/or friendship with a company and setting up a raceteam/program.

HA! That's funny. My battery was dead when I arrived. Never the less, that was basically the only thing wrong with the bike. Oh wait... the drive-train needed replacement, but the 520 was home before the bike.

HAHAHA!!!! That's hilarious! I bought my 1000RR from him with a dead battery! Last time I hung out with Ryan(hobbs), I changed the screen saver on the main computer to say:
"Hobbs Automotive, we sell more vehicles with dead batteries than any other dealership, PERIOD."

I'm not sure they appreciated that.
