Is there a vintage class in the LRRS?

    Hey Folks,

I'm just relocating back to the New England and I'm wondering if there is a vintage class that I can run a 97 ZX7 or a 91 GSXR. I read the rule book and it doesn't seem to be the case but I'm hoping I missed something.

Nope. You would have to run with the modern Middleweights or Heavyweights based on the bike you run. They are still competitive in novice and amateur somewhat.

The only "vintage" class in LRRS is the P89, which is as the name states, a pre-1989 class.

So I could potentially run an 89 GSXR in the P89 class? I do have an 89 chassis I could use.

Re: Is there a vintage class in the LRRS?

91 GSXR is Air/Oil cooled, 750cc, right? ULSB will let that machine in as long as it's not bored up past a 1mm overbore. You'll be going up against built Hawks, Motards, 800cc air cooled Duc SS machines, etc.

You're also legal for LWGP, MWSS, Thunderbike (Expect a protest, point to the rules), GTL and LW Formula 40.

Re: Is there a vintage class in the LRRS?

    I see.

Right now the bike the is configured with an 1100 motor. But I do have a 750 engine I could use. I'll just have to show up at the next event and chat with some folks. Most likely, I will not have a chance to compete until next season. Just trying to get my ducks in a row.

Welcome to the forum. There's always track days till you get the 750 motor back in.

I plan to attend the 7/30 event. Last time I rode Loudon, I was 19 years old. Many, many moons ago

    I'm looking forward to it.

You are too modest, you are THE weird Hawk guy that other Hawk guys aspire to.

You can run it with the 1100 as well, just pushes you up into higher classes, may not be as competitive though.

This guy really does rail on that GSXR. I was surprised how quick he picked it up...even on an older bike!!

Of course he does have a few good fast guy mentors over in the seacoast garage.
