She's right.
I know we all naturally want to attack this woman for what appears to be her role in canceling the event....but i'm assuming she has some pretty serious ties to Larry if she truly is the creator. If so, I don't think that would be the appropriate action...
Also, if this woman really is the creator and previous organizer of the event, then why was she not consulted this time around? That doesn't really add up...
Can anyone shed some light on who she is and what really happened here?
From what I gather as well as from what I've been able to tell myself, it's been an organizational nightmare to do this thing. It's never gone off without a hitch.
According to Tommy, the track tried stepping in to help out this year and she threw a hissy fit.
I'm sure there's a LOT more to it than that and I'm sure both sides were being dinks, but whatever. Beyond that I'm not sure much of us truly know anything and it's all speculation.
Based on the emails posted just in this thread, it sounds to me like Joyce feels the need to be in control of an event that she otherwise doesn't have a very good grasp of organizing. I mean, how difficult can it actually be to organize sponsors, print off 250 t-shirts and work with NHMS to have the event scheduled into LRRS?
I mean, on the outside looking in of course....
That's about the gist of it.
Everyone who is a "Friend of Larry" will be able to make a donation to the BIANH (Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire) and do laps around the track.
Peter Boucher has stated that he will be bringing Larry's rig to the track so that he can lead us.
Larry is on board with the new plans.
There is confusion as to who wants to provide t shirts. Too many chefs in this one on short notice. I am inclined to say screw the t shirts, that's not what this is all about. I'm gonna grab a blank shirt, write "Friend of Larry" on the front and "We don't need no steeenkin' t shirt!" on the back with a Sharpie. Maybe y'all can have an impromptu contest as to who can design the coolest/most fucked up shirt.
The less said about Joyce, the better. Don't poke her with emails. The most effective FU will be to pull this off without her.
