Not the only reason to lowside in that turn. Improper body position, turning input to "clean" a line while you roll on can unload the front and lowside you quick, especially on her bike, lots of torque. It's probably a mix of what Awesome said, AND that.

Or jumping the curbing like an idiot while leaned all the way over trying to "use all the track" -My personal choice.

    Everybody's a coach, eh?

The problem with asking for advice on here is that you'll get it, and get it, and get it, til you have no clue what's up. Lol.

To the OP, there are people giving advice in here who are still a hot mess on the track themselves... Take it all with a grain of salt, and seek out "experts" for coaching if you want it. And I don't mean anyone with white plates.

You mean post count isnt indicative of race knowledge?

This is probably the best advice in this thread.

As usual with NESR there is some good stuff here and some crap. You just need to wade through it.

Absolutely, the original post was really quite simple. I was just asking folks to recount their 'milestones and blockers', I've learned pretty quickly that most responses are simply reactions.

All that being stated, there are some very insightful and thought provoking responses too. Noting the distinction is the readers responsibility.

Diz, I haven't had much of a chance to watch you in particular, but I would guess that Jay (Awesome) is probably right with your 1a crash. If you'd like, I can watch you make some laps next round and see if there is anything I can see. Be forewarned, I am a back-of-the-pack red grouper for track days (i.e. yes, even you would lap me), but what I lack in gumption, I make up for in corner working ability, and a lot of that is seeing a crash 2-3 laps before it happens, being able to see the right lines, and having the benefit of being able to compare you and your lines/body position/brake points with, say, Eric Wood. I try not to give unsolicited advice, especially because I know how irreputable I am as a source to most of these guys, but I may be able to offer some insight in at least one corner.

    Diz,

if you want to stop caring about laptimes & want to focus more on looking sexy in track pictures....let me know.
might want your paint and decals to be blurred a little bit, so it appears you're going fast.
    that's my specialty.

    Re: long way to go...

Best advice I can give in your rookie season is to stop thinking about so much and just have fun.

Things to be thinking about are:
    * Reference points and consistently using them
    * Being smooth and predictable
    * Limited movement on the bike (might be why you low-sided) and energy conservation

Pretty much what is taught at most track days by most organizations. The saying is definitely true, "smooth is fast". Your fastest laps will occur when you feel relaxed and feel as if you're running slow and effortlessly.

Don't give it much thought. Just relax and have fun.
