like if some kid's daddy makes a huge donation to the track, air fence, or larry lap. did zero promotion to LRRS, NHMS, or the sport, then quit a season after. and you have the majority votes from the LRRS officials. yeah.....

I'll be sure to clearly articulate which race bike I'm referencing in every comment going forward for the armchair quarterbacks.
Lol it's winter already on NESR
i know of 5 riders that hit this mark and beyond this weekend.
Quote:
5.5.2.5
Unlimited Classes:
Record: 1:10 Bump threshold: 1:17
Middleweight/Heavyweight Classes:
Record: 1:10 Bump threshold: 1:17
I'm going to post this now so I can laugh about this thread in the future:
1:35.x, SV650
i still couldn't crack a 1:10 if i did the 3 --> 10 split
I am asking this out of serious inquiry and not some attempt to be a smartass or giant flaming douchewaffle. I thought those times you are quoting were the threshold for auto-bump or at least where it raises the flag to Graham and whoever else may be involved to take a look at this person for moving them into EX. I am fairly certain that a rider can request to be bumped up to EX well before meeting those thresholds. I know for a fact that there are experts in the MW class who regularly run higher than a 1:17.0.
There is no auto bump
Those thresholds are for AMs requesting early advancement. After 15 completed races, the normal advancement request process is in place in which case it's up to the rider to document and show they do 'median lap times consistent with the Expert riders' which is a much wider target than the 110% of the class lap record for early bumps.
Well 110% of 1:10 is 1:17
AS others have said, there is no auto bump. LRRS rule 5.5.2.4 states you can petition to advance with consistent times below the 110% threshold.
This rule has only been in a year or so... before that it was easier to advance. Along with rules like class winner must advance etc.
01:42.548 on the EX250!!! (That's my LRRS PB on that bike, I did manage 38's at track days)
Can I bump yet?
Ok, here are my excuses:
- I'm slow
- Stock bike with street tires
- No practice on bike, just jumped on and ran the 300 Challange race
- No chance of catching anyone, so no point in pushing too much. Didn't want to risk being on the edge knowing fast bikes would lap me.
Regarding advancement to Expert : end of season we will be somewhat exercising our right under rule 5.6.1..... there now, you are going to have to find a rule book.
I wonder if I'll get the email now at the end of the year...i haven't done 16s but have ran more than a couple of 17s within one race...and i got a ton of points because until last weekend before i went down i was leading 4 championships
