The initials are JW. That track is his personal playground.
I'm not sure what contingency has to do with anything :dunno:
CCS covers that.

I agree, he has a lot of influence...

He has a TON of influence, not just a say.

I don't think background checks are necessary (racing is expensive enough, I'm all set paying for that research), but if you have a high-profile case (or at least one that is known to the powers-that-be, whatever their name is) like this, some kind of action should be taken.
I agree Bryan and i would hope the owners/organizers/whoever has the say, in LRRS would not permit at least the 2 people recognized above (Mike Kontos & Christos Demetroules) from taking part in any LRRS events.
The day something is stolen from me or anyone i know at a LRRS event will be my last visit ever to that facility:chair:

I think that with this instance (a CCS/LRRS licensed racer caught up in a bike theft 'ring') that he absolutely should be banned from racing. Never mind all the race bikes in the paddock. But he also gets to case out all the blinged out streetbikes that're bopping around too. Is that someone anyone really wants stalking around the pit areas? And who's to say it's just bikes he's/they're casing. A lot of people leave a lot of shit unattended in their pit areas. Dan's lost an expensive power tool pack, Degsy's lost a wheel and chest/back protector. Does anyone REALLY feel comfy knowing that people like this are freely roaming the infield?

som3ething tells me that if he were to come back be would be 'heckled' away rather quickly cause i am sure it would be going around of what he did/ I don't think that he would last long there./

He wouldn't be the first person who's raced at Loudon after being stung in a bike parts fencing scheme.

I bet the cops showing up for random number checks at the track will go up this year.

I was thinking the same thing. This will likely become a much bigger issue in LRRS also. I'd say it is even likely given the link these two guys had.

I think back in 89 or 90 the state police was at the track checking VIN numbers.
I know that at Texas World about 15 years ago the Highway Patrol actually conficated a bunch of bikes since the rider could not prove that he owned it.
The crazy thing was that they also took TZ's and RS's from riders because the VIN did not conform to the standard. They did not know nor care about a GP machine being a race-only unit.
It was a mess for all riders involved, but the cops did in fact find stolen bikes. We didn't do much to help the cause there, did we.

Yeah, it would suck if they check numbers. There are probably only like five bikes with matching numbers at the track. everyone knows that crashed bikes and blown motors are the norm in racing, except the police!
It's actually tough for any racer to avoid buying stolen goods unknowingly. You need a motor for the next event, you want a good price, you buy what you can find. Is it stolen? You didn't stop to ask that, did you?
Plus, my bike is one of those GP machines that they would know nothing about.
