Katie and I were standing between 11 and 12 when you crashed. Also the Young guy and his girlfriend (the blonde girl that techs the helmets or at least used to) from Soughegan Motorsports were there watching. Katie and I only caught the tail end of the crash, after you and the bike had started tumbling in the grass. We were both amazed and happy that the bike never contacted you during the crash.

Once we had determined that you appeared to be relatively ok we asked the other two if they had seen what happened. From what the guy said you had just come over the seam in the track just prior to the entry to what I call 11 when you appeared to lose the front in a low side. His explanation was that the seam in the track had opened up this weekend more so than the past and that the bump that follows the seam had become more pronounced. His speculation was that you had hit the bump already leaned over and lost the front.

I apologize for not stopping by the pits on the way out of the track. Katie and I were in the garages when the skies opened up and a friend offered up a ride to my car so we wouldn't get soaked so we didn't get a chance to stop and chat. I knew from your demeanor and from talking to Jane that you were physically ok and figured I would catch up with you here.

From the track days for the past 2 days I was analyzing this particular section. I did happen to notice the seam riding over it. I was also wondering if this may have introduced the snap that I felt. It was instant. Zero slide, zero warning.

I'm particularly proud of my Morse code ability. I had no idea I could spell out OH SHIT in code. Look for it next time you go towards the outside apex into 11.

I noticed a lot more bike movement under you coming out of 1 and through 1a than normal. It seemed to have settled, or you adapted by your third lap around.

Well, I already told you as well, but there was some not-rightness going on through three, then again coming out of 10 and obviously something really bad on the transition to 11. I don't know if it was the shock, but there was something going on that doesn't usually go on with you.

I remember turning to Jane as you went through three and she said "Something's wrong, Gino doesn't ride like that."


I'm so glad you're okay though....bikes can be fixed.

Did I remember to thank you for adding another visual que to the track? If you split the two skid marks that you left in 11, it makes for a good line through 12...

That seam into 11 has put me into a full on tank slapper before. It's real important to cross it on the gas and loose on the bars. If you roll off on it, or tug at the bars, it will set the bike off...

I waited around to watch your race, ticked off the misses (told her I didn't want to talk to her right now I'm watching the races) so she went away mad and I had full attention to the race and was blocking the other ppl out too.

Seriously thought you scrapped / touched down / bottomed out / BROKE on your way thru 1 into 1A. I heard something so loud (like when the teacher catches you sleeping in class and drops a book on the floor next to you) that I looked behind to your line to see if there were any loose parts bouncing or sparks flying. I caught back up to you coming around 2 towards 3 and from that distance can't really tell much about style ... just position
