They will have their own practice group, and race classes that don't mix.

No, it's great. Seriously. They can't wreck the track any worse than the legend cars.

Sounds like they should call this the novice class. Then the ranking structure would match CCS.

Not trying to discourage you from doing it and it's great to get more racers on the grid at Loudon. Just saying, I'm more excited about the kids we've been getting from boxshop and turning into motoamerica stars, more.
Road racing needs to figure this out. There are ~1000 racers at each JDay offroad event and it costs $50 to enter and race for 2 30 minute heats = $50/hour of racing, and $50k in entry fees for each one day event. They have flaggers, ambulances, etc just like road race. Similarly, supermoto is significantly more affordable per minute of track time than road racing, and it's 99% as fun.

At Loudon, we have maybe 100 racers paying $300-700 per 3 day weekend to race and practice, and you're paying a minimum of $3/minute for racing/practice time (3x the cost). If you can have fun riding dirt bikes or supermoto in wheel-to-wheel racing, and pay 1/3 of what you would pay to road race, why road race at all?

$155 for superstreet is cheaper than a track day, but you're going to get a lot less time on the track too. So much of racing is your mentality. You can go into a novice race, and if you're smart, just ride your race, ride to have fun and be safe. It took me many flag drops and a few crashes to get this mentality, but labeling something super street vs novice is not going to make a difference. People crash all the time in the NESBC races.

So yeah I really don't see the point of super street! If it was like $50 and just an opportunity for people to get on the track and try racing at a low cost, then I think it might have some more potential.

    .
Racing ‘real’ SM is way more fun than road racing.

Re: LRRS / NEMRR Super Street Class racing

Roadracing requires renting a track... that makes the cost significantly higher. If you could go to a random parking lot and set up some cones, you could get the price down like supermoto. Mx tracks are usually in undesirable land locations and have been around long enough that land has probably been paid off for a long time. Bringing dirt in can be expensive, but not as much as asphalt. And most mx tracks can run all summer long with open practice and events every weekend.

I seem to remember it being about $6500 a day just to rent the track at Loudon.

Roadracing is expensive, but awesome. As much as I love other disciplines, carving up a road course will always be the pinnacle for me.

All of you regular racers might want to review the rulebook in general, but specifically on what goes into your radiator.

I have always used water with water wetter, but I'm pretty sure Evans got approved last year. They tested it and everything and I was told it got put on the approved list, so...

Yup. Just checked. Rule 9.10.1. Second and third down the listed of approved. So maybe you need to recheck? Lol
