Well it looks like the site is back up. Good thing because I need to pre-reg today.
Don't hold your breath on race results though, according to Don Hutchinson on the NEAR list they won't be posted until AFTER the May weekend.![]()
Their website blows, with the money they take in you figure they could hire a highschool kid that knows what the fuck a database is and set it up to pre reg online!

Does LRRS really have that large a budget? I thought most of the reg/gate fees went to paying the track, cornerworkers, etc etc.
They have to make some profit. They could use $250 of it for a website!

Wow, when you find the dude who charges $250 for a full, database backend website, send him myway.Originally posted by HBerry

Do you even race up there? That's a honest question, not a snide remark.
From what I've read about other tracks and race orgs, on the myraid of BBS's I lurk on (trying to sate my insatiable appetite for roadracing fun), I can honestly say that I'm quite happy with LRRS.
Then again, I do always think back to my days of racing on the National Downhill MTB circuit, and the absolute horror show that National Series was. Speaking of that, my buddy came up to LRRS this past weekend, a fellow MTB'er from the DH Nat scene. He was walking around in absolute awe of the show. He kept saying he couldn't believe how well run everything was, how organized it was, etc etc.
I'm sure I'll keep hearing the same old arguments day and night thou. More fun than talking about how Don H. was working almost non-stop on the computers last weekend![]()

Like I said, find a high school kid who knows something about DB's and they will do it for that money. Better yet, talk to a college professor and have them assign it in their systems analysis and design class. Had I not thought of this 3/4 of the way through the semester I would have done it instead of a help desk project.Originally posted by a13x

I could probably spend 20 minutes finding an open source database that could easily and quickly be configured to work for LRRS.

LRRS probably wouldn't care even if I set it up and showed it to them!

Step up to the plate, but you would need to commit to maintain it, troubleshoot it, etc.
I think that's why they avoid freebie site offers. Almost anyone there could dump a site in their laps, but it needs to be kept functional. Most of you will dissappear in 2-3 years when your money runs out or you get hurt, or you get frustrated. (sorry, but it's true)
If I were to get money to maintain it, I wouldn't even need to be around in order to do it. They have internet access in the check in area and in the scoring garage correct?Originally posted by Paul_E_D

what is there to maintain, any website worth having is going to have even the simplest of backends which means someone there just has to be competent enough to point to files and type text... things like contribute make it almost as easy as using a forumOriginally posted by Paul_E_D

ride bikes or jocks? which one was it you did.. just an honest question?
secondly not only am i a racer at the track, but i am a web/graphic designer, and software engineer and thats not some title i just gave myself because i can use photoshop, and i did all the websites for my family members...
there is no need for the chaos of same day registrations and the 3 ring (window) circus. Dont get me wrong the riders can take some blame to for putting it off to the last minute but thats only part of the problem
I did get my lic last year and i will be racing there this year, and attendend most of last years weekends to help wrench... ad to that I also cornerworked many weekends including the weekend of my rookie race.. i dont need my nose burried in asses to know that the balls being dropped.
but whats that have to do with the track being behind the times?
