    Michelin 2011 Contingency

Per our Michelin meeting last week and this morning, Michelin is paying for 2011. Very similar program to 2010, and all being handled through XTRM again.

The final payouts should be up shortly. They are just waiting for the class updates from various orgs.

    Just a heads up!

I see that Michelin is actually listing contingency for 125 GP. Did they start making 125 GP slicks again?

    How about 250 GP slicks?

Haven't seen 16/63 rear slicks for like 2 or 3 years... only the 180 series 600 rear slicks which are really too wide for 5.5" rims and don't turn as well.

We were told this year there are no plans to bring back either purpose built 125 or 250 tires.

125's were 09/58-17 and 12/60-17. No longer available.

250's were 12/60-17 and 16/62-17. The fronts are still made, but riders now run the 16/63-17 SMR rears with excellent success.

The 16/62-17 was made for 4.5 inch rim. The 16/63-17 is for a 5.0-5.5 inch rim like you see on a modern SMR.

We mount a lot of 18/67-17's on 5.5 inch rims. It is the optimum fitment up to 6". For larger 17's, we go to the new 19/69-17 which is made for 6.25-6.50 in rims.
