Re: Marquez Replaces Stoner at Repsol Honda

I am expecting some pretty big fallout when Marquez gets up to MotoGP and tries his patented, pass someone at the end of a straightaway (either inside or outside) and then, instead of keeping his line into the corner, cutting hard across the nose of the bike he just passed. I'm guessing that the boys in MotoGP might have a little more to say about it than those in Moto2.

You think he might end up in the next gravel trap? I do. And I'll laugh when it happens. Even though he is an impressive rider in Moto2, I think he might be in for a rude awakening when he steps up to play with the big boys.

watch the last couple of races, they are wise to that move now and either block the inside or just repass him right away. I don't even think he's gonna be able to attempt that move on the big boys

well as long as he doesn't start out the same as he did in moto 2 i tend to disagree he's fast it might take him a bit to adjust to the bigger bike but i think he will do just fine and pedrosa will still be hard pressed to get his title

I have noticed that the riders are wise to the move and riding around it but it makes it no less dangerous of a move. Especially when travelling at the quicker pace of the MotoGP bikes.

All he needs to do is misjudge the move by a split second and one if not both riders will be tumbling and, being that it usually takes place at the end of a very fast straightwaway, there will likely be injuries involved.

Think of all the feeder class riders who have been rough-simoncelli, lorenzo, barbera and bautista wailed on eachother in 250s, rossi

They get the idea that that stuff doesn't fly in GP pretty quick and figure out how to channel it into really strong riding. Its that youthful exuberance and energy though that makes great riders

LOL when i saw this in Fastest I really thought - GODDAMN!!!!! Pedrosa is just a mechanical robot, one-sided, monotone human being. at that point i did feel bad for Hayden. but Pedrosa can ride though. he has talent, but he's been in GP for so long he hasnt seen the fruition of his work. i doubt he will ever get a title.

Marq rides hard too but he makes a lot of questionable passes. I hope the GP class teach him a thing or two.

We'll see what happens. Right now, Stoner is a ways back in third and is struggling. Pedrosa is not far behind Lorenzo in points, and if Lorenzo ends up having to use an extra engine to make up for the one Bautista destroyed out from under him, that's a significant setback. This *could* be Pedrosa's year.

I kinda feel sorry for the guy . . . Pedrosa is always the bridesmaid but never the bride (now that I think about it, that's most of the GP grid)

there is just nothing for me that inspires fandom in pedrosa. most of what i dislike about him is because of alberto puig but regardless, there isnt anything i like about him

With Marquez riding style and Pedrosa's personality this may be a PR headache for Honda.

its tough to root for a guy with no personality who really up until the last couple of years wasn't that good of a racer. Great rider but his racecraft has sucked until recently. I think he still lacks the aggression to take the fight for the win every weekend and it'll prevent him from winning a championship.
