Mass break in of campers and trailers at NHMS

Sometime between the last race weekend and sunday night my rv and about 15 other trailers and rv's were broken in.

Nothing was taken from mine they just broke in. The trailers had the locks cut and the locks were all missing.

I looked in a few other trailers that were broken into with bikes, leathers, pit bikes, and one even had a helmet right in the doorway and not a think looked out of place.

If anyone keeps their shit up there they may want to swing by and lock it back up. I suspect maybe they were prospecting for a later return.

Um... fuck. All my gear is there. Now I gotta get up there today, and my dad just had a major surgery today, so I'm not sure how this is going to work.

Anyone want to throw a lock on mine if you're going in return for reembursement of the lock & some of your beverage of choice?

edit: thanks for the heads up KB. I copied it to NEAR and NEAR EX500 as well.

If I can get there (big if with my dads surgery) anyone want me to check something in particular for them? Anyone know how late we can get in there on a weekday?

I was one of the people that went and looked at the RV's after we reliazed that it happened to my friends at the recent trackday. It doesn't appear anything was taken from any of them. Some trailers had bikes and racing equipment and everything looked untouched. It was about 10 RV and trailers all in one specific area that it happened to....Over by the large green dumpsters, a few rows into the area of parked trailers.

It may have been high school kids looking for money or booze? I have no idea why nothing was touched. All the locks were busted off with a crowbar or something similar.

We went and spoke to the staff and asked that Wanda contact the owners of the trailers that were broken into.

This sucked to see, my RV was not touched but I feel bad for those it happened to.

The door on the RV is fucked. They grabed the bottom and pulled it completey out so they could crawl in. Then came out the passenger door. My heart dropped when I saw it. All I could think of was how fuckin much it would cost to replace all my gear.

Mine doesn't have a #. It's a shitty old tramper registered to BJ, right against the main road. I recognise it myself by the off white color & orange stripe, and the orange EX visible through the front windows. I wish I could give one of you guys enough of a description to have you replace the lock and save myself a bunch of time off work, but I'll have to go myself since there's no #, don't know the make, etc. Oh well, maybe I'll see some of you there.

I think I'm going to bring my gear home until next weekend in case they were scoping. If they want the EX they'll get it, but there are far better bikes and I don't have the means to move it anyway. My gear, OTOH, would be too easy to take and I can't afford to replace it.

Dude, that would kick ass! If you could, and could give me a call, it could save me some SERIOUS work headache. It should be directly in front (within a foot, actually) of Ox's bus (in front from driving the bus, behind from the entrance to the area) right against the middle access road there. I'll shoot you my cell so you can give me a call if you're able to take a look for me.

I'd give the bike a real good once over before you ride it. Make sure they weren't in there fucking around with the bikes, check your clickers, cables, levers, fasteners, nuts bolts, everything! Sugar in the fuel, shit like that. I hate to think like that but you never know. Hope it's all ok for you all

Oil is safety wired and I doubt these creeps know or care how to safety wire so that should be safe... but I think I'll put "drain and replace fuel" on my list for next weeekend. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the thought, miserable as it is.

I was there today. I too can verify the bus is untouched. Wanda said there were only 5 broken into. Mine, KB's, & BJ/Brendan's hauler is 3. Don't know the other 2, but Wanda said she called whoever they belong to.
