This is why I asked if they had threaded bleeder valves. The bicycle syringes actually thread onto the bleeder to guarantee a good seal.

I haven't seen threaded valves on a motorcycle.

Do you know who makes them for bicycles?

I tried googling it, but couldn't find any. The bicycle ones might be smaller but it would be worth checking out.

Avid is the brand (as pictured), owned by SRAM and for use on SRAM hydraulic systems. Shimano also has hydraulic brakes but I don't think they use the threaded design.

Threaded bleeder valves would be awesome.

I've tried a mitivac. Never had any luck with it. I can never get it to get a good enough seal on the bleeder to not draw air.

Is there anything we can't get on Amazon these days? Marty Walsh was on NPR this morning talking about how he's going to clean up prostitution. I may have to get my hookers on amazon from now on.

I dont know why Ductard jumped in the fray so early. I was going to build up Max Power and his legend slowly, like the Stig. When I was done, there was no way anyone would not, not like Max Power.

The last one I got off of amazon wouldn't seal when it came time to suck. Things just got messy.....

....oh, wait....thought we were still talking about brake bleeders.

30 years ago I had a Ducati race bike blow a head gasket on the front cylinder. I had about 45 minutes to make a replacement out of Annie Hutchinson's camping cookware pot lid using a ball point pen and tin snips. My rider finished second in the next race.
I still have what's left of the lid on my office wall.

I'm not even sure that's an icp themed Vic. 5150 is most certainly a van halen reference.

That is funny! What's more funny than lambo doors is front wheel drive cars with big rear splitters and boot spoilers.

Re: The "things not to do in the middle of track days" thread

I saw some people smoking at a trackday. I couldn't understand why they would do that. It's bad for you, it stinks and it's expensive. Plus it stinks for everyone around you.

I don't understand why they do it, so it must be wrong. That clearly falls under the "things not to do at a trackday" category.

But wrenching on your bike to make it handle better? OH MY GOD NO!

Somebody in the same garage at NHMS on Mon was using the "Chevy tool" (12oz ball peen hammer) and a screwdriver to adj left front fork. Was surprised the tapping turned into banging. He still rode the next session. Not sure exactly what adjustment was being made...

Prolly moving the fork up or down in the triple. Once you loosen the bolts you sometimes have to "coax" the triple open just a tad with a screwdriver.

...At least that's what we had to do to help a guy do a trackside repair on an R1 that he had to ride home after he crashed it. Those fork tubes did not want to come out. I think it was a combination of prying a little, finding a socket that fit just right on the fork cap, and tapping the socket with a hammer that finally got it out.

Now that's a ballsy thing to do in the middle of a trackday.
