Middleweight Supersport - How light can you go?

My 03 R6 is a pig compared to the machines I'm used to hustling around the track. I haven't weighed it yet but it's gotta have a good 100lbs over my 400. Granted, that's comparing a full superbike machine from the way simpler carb days to a EFI setup supersport, but still, that R6 is heavy! What are people hitting for weights in CCS supersport legal configs on their middleweights?

Ok, so I'm not that far off the mark then I suspect. Just going to have to hit the stair master more before pushing it up the ramp again.

You've got me curious as to just how much more a 'busa mill weighs compared to an R6... quick, to the eBay to compare shipping weights!

Looks like the R6 is in the 120lbs range, 'busa in the 180lbs to 200lbs range. That's a lot of extra pork for that extra go...

According to Honda the 1200 vfr motor was significantly smaller than the 800. And had nearly 70 more hp.

And this, for those unfamiliar with Kurlon, is the point at which it starts. Its like a Kurlonization Big Bang!

Isn't the 2007 CBR600RR one of the lightest, something like 407 lbs wet weight and much less with a few simple mods?

In your case, strip it to the frame, cut everything off that is non essential, fab a CF subframe, strip emissions crap, new faring stays and fairings, new wheels, lightened rear rotor, strip wiring harness, remove starter and magnets, lighten flywheel, a few aluminum clutch plates, lightwieght chain/sprockets, titanium shock spring, titanium bolt kit and maybe you get below 400. Maybe.

You would then have something nearing the price/worth of the WReck, But you weigh so little that the bike probably isn't that far off of your competition stock vs stock.

Meh, now that I know everyone else is having to throw the same piggie around, I'm just going to keep it SS. Lightweight batt, keyswitch eliminator, annnnnnd... done. Subframe costs real money, exhaust costs real money, other than stripping the harness and de-tabbing the frame the other big ticket stuff has already been tossed.

My old '05 was in the 365ish, my '15 is 375ish both could still go lower too. There was a guy with an 05-06 636 who got his in the 350 range with your typical off the self parts, stripping the non essentials, and aftermarket wheels
