AFAIK, there is no exemption for EX500's

There has to be something out there since every other org requires it. I know that there's a "diaper "for yards that should pass tech and you should still be able to use a stand since I believe its soft.

a quick search and ive found that some guys buy a wide dirtbike rear fender (like a KX500) and then trim to fit. another thing i read is guys cutting up gas cans and and trimming them to fit as well.

The carbon fiber one is not meant to be a skid plate. Its meant for oil containment. If you need a skid plate for road racing youre doing something wrong.

Agreed, Joel don't put it on the stand if you can help it I use two pitbull rear stands with the SME Axle sliders. The Carbon pan from Ebay works awesome no complaints here.

Thanks! I'll order up one of the CF pans.
I was wondering what I'd do about stands for tire warmers...hoping to get away with one of the moto stands I already have.
I used a PitBull rear and Woodcraft front (for under the triple) with my 800ss. Might need to pick up yet another front stand.

That picture is also super useful for its intended purpose of showing a motard on 2 rear stands. Fail.

    Re: Motard Belly Pan

So tech let me slide with a turkey pan safety wired on in R3 - but I don't expect the same next time.

I ordered the carbon fiber belly pan but am hoping to send that back and find something that lets me use my mx style stand rather than use front/rear stands (it's just so much easier / more stable).

I heard some people are using plastic skid plates from Acerbis - but I can't seem to find one that fits my bike ('02 KTM 520 SX)...and the ones I found would seem to need modified to cover up the holes that let you change the oil without removing the plates.

I've skimmed this thread, but didn't see if there was a definitive answer.

    Any thoughts?

    Re: Motard Belly Pan

I'm using the eline carbon fiber skid plate now. You can use the center stand with it. You will have to plug the hole with something. No idea if they make one for your bike.
