Lowbrow? You lead with a cousin-fucking joke... I followed with a redneck reference to said cousin-fucking. I thought it was a beautiful set-up, and execution.

I have the streaming pass and watched a lot of the practice sessions this season. From what I could see -

-Always crashes in a corner with lots of runoff. I think he's made a conscious decision to not push the limit in sketchy corners
-Some of the crashes are very low speed. He's trying to save the front end on his knee and elbow........and trying.......and by the time he finally does fall over he's scrubbed off a lot of speed
-In high speed crashes he brings his arms in very tight to his chest so if he tumbles, he's less likely to break a wrist, etc

Ok, WTF is the difference between the illegal "winglets" of last year, and what they are now putting on the yamaha? I always thought the safety argument was total BS. The new yeamaha design is absolutely a winglet. it is riveted on, not integral, which I thought was one of the safety requirements for new aero.

Are these in the testing after the official season is over and theoretically off season? I would guess for development purposes they are allowed to do things like this in testing and then if they determine that the changes merit integrating into the bodywork for next year they would do so and get the bodywork approved by the FIM/Dorna.
