    Re: MotoAmerica 2022

I watched quite a bit of vintage 200 footage this weekend, and watched the current race this morning on YouTube. While I have my doubts that the 200 or American roadracing in general will ever be as big as it was decades ago, it was definitely fun to watch this year. I did not reup my wsbk pass and wont be subscribing to MA, but do hope to watch some replays this season and follow along.

I was running around in the salt truck until 6:30 this morning, arrived home and was completely gassed.

What's the best cure for exhaustion? Watching the Daytona 200, that's what!

    Incredible finish.

I'm not so sure his intention was to come back into line in the manner he did. My guess is he was just along for the ride and things played out how they did, lucky for him and those around him the bike straightened itself out relatively well without doing any more then it did. In that regard the rider not doing anything to make the bike do anything worse is worthy of applause. Most of us would have likely death gripped the bars and made some input that caused the bike to crash.

After watching it about a dozen or so times, I wouldn't say Mazziotto recklessly returned back to the racing line, but he DID RICCOCHE off the wall & back down the banking. That dude was nothin but a passenger from the moment he swerved up towards the wall... Everything after that, he was just along for the ride...

What he DID do on purpose, rightfully so but which caused the whole thing, was avoid ass-packing Marcon. From my interpretation, Mazz was in the draft and closed up to Marcon's rear tire quicker than he anticipated. He caught up to him JUST as the curve of the track was also tightening up. So when he swerved up up towards the wall he immediately ran out of room, as the wall was also turning towards him.

As for the save... Just keeping it upright was incredible... but the moment he swerved right, he was nothing but a passenger. He didn't make it any worse, which is commendable, but thankfully the bike straightened itself out and no one else got collected enough for any of them to hit the ground.

Scary shit, but it made for a helluva show.

BOTH of those races were fantastic. I can't wait to watch the rest of the season. I'll be pulling for Ben & Teagg for sure. That fight at the end of race 2 and how close those all guys were to each other??? holy hell!!!

That Race 2 finish would have been a serious pucker moment for sure!

Perfect class for those kids to move into as the junior cup was essentially all drafting and close racing.

Being a lw guy or not, both of those races were crazy fun to watch. They did a pretty good job posting either full races or highlights on YouTube last year. Great way to follow the whole series for free.

I got a kick out of the announcers going on about the Jr Cup riders having to 'adapt' to the 'rougher, more elbows out' riding of the veteran Twins Cup riders. Have they not watched Jr Cup, Moto 3, etc? Combination of Chess Match and Knife fight where the participants are all packing illegal spiked baseball bats... I think the adults are the ones going 'whoa' at the moves these newcomers to the class are willing to try.

I also got a kick out of the announcers gushing on & on about Marcon moving his way to the front at the beginning of Race 1. I was screaming "THAT'S TEEEEEEEEEEAGG!!!"

I gave the announcer points for realizing and taking blame for his mistake later on.
