The most eloquent and honest thing he has ever put on social media. Incredibly well said.

    Quote Originally Posted by Jorge
There are 4 significant days in the career of a rider. Your first race, your first win, your first championship and the day you retire. I’m here to tell you this day has arrived for me. I want to announce this will be my last race in MotoGP.

The ones who worked with me, know how much of a perfectionist I am and how the amount of hard work I put into this. After 9 unforgettable years with Yamaha (the best ones of my career) I felt I needed a change. Moving to Ducati gave me that big boost I needed and even though the results were bad I used that extra motivation and finally won that special race at Mugello. When I signed for Honda I got similar feeling, achieving one of the dreams of every rider: to be an official HRC factory rider.

Injuries soon came to play an important role in my season and the bike never felt natural to me. Anyway, I never lost patience and I kept fighting. But, as I started to see some light, I had that bad crash in Montmeló test and some weeks later that ugly one in Assen. When I stopped rolling in the gravel, the first thought was “What am I doing here?” I love this sport, I love to ride and I love to win. But if I’m not able to fight for something big I cannot find the motivation to keep going. I am very sorry to Honda, especially to Alberto. I remember the day in Montmeló when we meet and I told him “Don’t make a mistake signing the wrong rider, trust me and you will not regret it.” Very sadly, I have to say that I disappointed him and all the team. But Jorge and HRC cannot be here just to score some points!

I feel so lucky to be able to achieve much more than I ever imagined. I always worked very hard, but without being at the right place at the right time, and without the help of many people who worked with me, it would have been impossible.

That’s why I would like to thank all of these people. Especially Carmelo and Dorna. Derbi, Aprilia, Yamaha, Ducati, Honda, Giampiero Sachi, Gigi Dall’igna, Lin Jarvis and Alberto Puig. My mother for bringing me to this world. My father, for showing me the passion for this sport. My fans and my fan club for the unconditional love. All the people who work with me as a personal team. Thank you.

Sad to see him go. When he was setting the pace and could manage a holeshot there really wasn't much anyone could do to stop him from taking the win. It didn't always make for the best racing to watch, but I always respected his discipline.

It was very impressive to watch him ride away. Incredibly boring though. Just looked like he was going for a Sunday afternoon cruise.

    So, Valencia...

Great reminder to chill out when the temps drop.
Glad to see that Moto3 rider Foggia is looking OK. That was a scary one.

Also a great reminder to keep your head on a swivel. Zarco is very, very lucky that Lecuona's bike didn't tumble.

That zarco incident took my breath away, knowing how bad that could have gone. Goes to show, NEVER turn your back on the track in a crash zone.

Any thing confirmed yet for 2020? I still think brothers on the same team is a big mistake.

    Re: MotoGP 2019 (spoilers)

My wife was flipping out for that Moto3 crash. With the corner workers huddled around the incident she kept saying "he's dead, isn't he? please don't let my daughter watch this one, okay." The "all riders are conscious" message on the ticker was not enough for her.

I haven't watched the main event (moto gp race) yet and shouldn't be reading this thread until I do.

Kind of a strange move, but a very high profile one, so I get it. I wonder if it will make it extra tough for Alex to succeed?

    Re: MotoGP 2019 (spoilers)

I thought AM needed to prove himself for one more season in Moto2 before getting called up, let alone to a factory Honda seat. They know more about him than I do though, he definitely showed a lot with his race craft this season. Also fair to point out; if not now, when? You’ve got an opening with the contract now, if that’s the guy you want no reason to wait.

I thought Zarco was the obvious choice, but he hasn’t had a great showing on the LCR ride. I also thought there was a chance at an out of left field FQ20 move, however unlikely. Can we start the 2020 season NOW?

    Re: MotoGP 2019 (spoilers)

Can we take a second to talk about the slow-mos of Turn 13 they had going all weekend long? They couldn't show enough of them . One of the few times you can actively see the riders turning into the slide I know they do it pretty regularly at a lot of corners, but the footage here was amazing from both the front and rear.

Especially Pol's save! That was a hell of a lap to do without TC!

    Re: MotoGP 2019 (spoilers)

Also, not sure if anyone else heard during the broadcast, but right after Zarco’s crash they basically said “oh shit he’s got tryout with 3 teams next week.” One if those three teams is the Marc VDS Moto2 team. Needless to say, my ears perked up a bit when I heard that.

I'm not arguing the credentials. It doesn't get much better than double moto2 world champion Its just a hard bike to ride and he doesn't have the talent of his older brother. No doubt about it, he's amazing...its just so much pressure. And even if he crushes it and is capable of battling his older brother...do they actually battle?

The footage in T13 was awesome. They hit the camera angles perfect. The save was insane. He must have nerves of steel.

As a not fan of JL99 I found myself somewhat sad to see him go. He was a great rider.

    Re: MotoGP 2019 (spoilers)

I think Binder on the moto2 KTM had the biggest drift of the weekend in T13. The fact that the are hanging it out like that lap after lap is mind boggling. So are the moto2/3laptimes for that matter. I think they are more impressive than the premiere class sometimes.

Finally got around to watching MotoE and Moto3. Watching 2 now, then GP tonight.

Any updates on Foggia? Holy shit...

EDIT: Speaking of Moto2, anyone hear Jake Dixon's hilarious "They're only human, so... we eat, sleep and.... piss & shit" comment on pre-grid?

Foggia posted on his facebook page later that day from the hospital. Was just wearing a soft neck brace so I'd say he is ok and very lucky.
