Thoughts on why JL99 has fallen so hard from the top? Is he just pulling his horn collecting a check? Does not seem like him. I think he is tool bag but man he was the tits for a while.

I think he's hurt and doesn't have as much motivation to push through it as some of the other guys
At this point I'm reserving judgement on JLo until next season and I think Repsol is as well. He fractured two vertebrae when he crashed at Assen, pretty serious injury. We may end up finding that he still cant ride the RCV when he comes back, he wasn't exactly standing out before the Assen crash, but he should have the latitude to sort it out.
Ahh. Forgot he got dinged up.
Injury is obviously an issue, but I think the front end on the Honda is going to be a big problem for him once he’s healed. He needs confidence in the front end to ride well, and the Honda seams to lack that. Marq is amazing at saving it and keeping the hammer down. Don’t see Lorenzo adapting to that.
Best Q2 of the season!! 93 got just what he deserved, finally.
Watching moto3 Q1. What a bunch of little twats.
I just finished watching qualifying, haven’t watched the race yet, so I haven’t scrolled through everyone’s latest comments here...but I am so damn happy Marquez fell right on his big mouth. Despite just saying I didn’t dislike him, he’s already won the championship yet he was being a huge wuss following a rookie around. That was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in MotoGP.
Hahaa, I have to say that Marc was stupid in qualifying and got what he deserved. I have to say that the airbags are pretty damned impressive. Walking away from a faceplant like that...
That was a hairy crash. Airbag or not.
I thought his movement up through the pack during the race was great stuff. That crash had to be in his head a little, and he had to be sore. He's a tough kid.
The slow-mo of the FP front tuck save, though... Unreal.
Marc and Dovi's first laps were incredible. Aggressive and mostly clean, but take no prisoners for sure.
I wonder what the extent of his injuries were. He was clearly doing his best to try to hide them. Trying to just walk it off and make it look like it wasn't a big deal. That was pretty brutal, his right knee has GOT to be decently busted.
The knee took what seemed to be the hardest hit. Marc trains differently from the rest of the field. He works on flexibility in a serious way. He is definitely on the right track and gets injured less because of it.
He definitely makes some of his own luck. Lorenzo would have been in a body bag.
The dude has some serious sack and a very high threshold for pain.
I wasn't sure where to put this, suppose this is as good a place as any
Rainey rides again.....

If you remember motorcycle racing back in the 80s and 90s this will bring a smile to your face
There it is, JL99 is riding his last race at Valencia.
Agree more or less, but I was ready to give him the benefit of the doubt until next season. His Assen injury was serious. He said in his press conference that he's been unable to physically press on the bike the way he has in the past.
Yep....I actually sat and watched the Lorenzo retirement press conference.
What are the chances Honda signs Alex...?
I'm guessing Zarco or Nakagami at this point...this was probably all planned out months ago. I don't think Nakagami has the talent but I believe Honda will give the edge to a Japanese rider as Ducati does for Italians. But Nakagami is heavily backed by Idemitsu, which is another petroleum company like Repsol. Losing those sponsorship dollars would be bad for Honda, so maybe it is Zarco? I'd love to see Aleix (Espargaro, not a typo) get a shot on a proper motorcycle that needs to be ridden flat out, but that goes against my belief that you need new younger talent to beat Marc - but why would Honda want to beat Marc? Brings me back to Zarco, a good second runner to Marc that will never beat him but likely rack up points for the team championship at a reasonable salary based on his antics this year.
I don't think you want brothers on the same team TBH. I think it could work well if he was on the junior Honda team.
It's almost certainly going to be Zarco at Repsol, going back to they knew this was happening all along. They'll keep it quiet until after the race weekend out of respect for Lorenzo but it won't be long after that when thy announce it.
