Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
Good ride for FQ, if he continues to show that consistency there’s no reason he can’t battle a healthy MM. MV continues to show he can’t figure out a full load of fuel. Shame for PG and FM, the latter being a bit puzzling. No smoke, just loss of power. Similar to Rossi last week, possibly electronics related? Good to see the old man on the podium again. I’m bummed about Jack not finishing, he’s become my favorite rider in the GP class. Really disappointing result for KTM after a good weekend up until now.
I didn’t really get the snooze fest vibe here, FQ had the top step locked up early but there was some good racing going on behind him.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
The Moto E race was as, if not more, entertaining as the MotoGP (except for the personalities). Granted, it’s only 6 laps and lap times are maybe 8 seconds slower, but daaamn. I know it’s heresy here, but I can’t wait for tracks to have chargers and to be able to buy an e- sport bike with specs similar to petrol liter bikes.

For me this race is the reason the series needs someone like Marc Marquez. As I said if it wasn't for the super hot conditions which I think is the biggest factor we had some of the results we did today I might have fallen asleep. Stating the obvious Fabio is an outstanding rider. I feel it's going to be some very exciting racing with Marquez comes back between those two. I just thought he was boring to watch. The commentators said is perfectly. It's like watching Lorenzo back when he was winning with Yamaha. Super smooth riding off into the distance. For me it's just not exciting riding to watch.
If it the heat was less extreme I think Fabio would have won by a large margin again and the rest of the field would have mostly just rode in line with a few lunges for a pass here and there.
Vinales to me has to be the most disappointing rider for the past couple of years. He has the talent to ride up front but he just can't put the pieces together for an entire race. If he doesn't figure it very soon next year he is going to be the clear #2 rider and the bike will going in the direction of Fabio.

That stuff was good racing last year too. Just wish it went on longer so stuff like tires going away which was big in the GP race would be a bit of a factor.

Did you see the crashes from the E bikes?
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
Side note: does anyone think MM’s injuries were made to be worse than actual for the purpose of marketing?

I missed that race this time around but I'm not sure what this quote has to do with the E-bike race since it was directed at the moto gp race.

I was referring to the season in general. All Moto related stuff are very entertaining imo. We have def seen better battles but it’s fun to follow this year. Maybe the anticipation helped.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
The E bike race was nuts! First time I’ve tuned into it.

Doubtful. It was a violent crash, and in slo-mo it certainly looks like his arm is jacked up pretty badly. He would have needed to race today to capitalize on a media stunt.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
I wonder if Rossi had orders to give up that position to Maverick at the end. Very impressive ride by Rossi.
I'm mostly bummed out for KTM and Binder.
I'm leaning towards no asterisk next to this championship. Marc crashed all on his own. He knew the consequences of an injury the same as every other rider. To me, its no different than any other rider getting injured. If people are riding hard enough to push you into mistakes, then good on them.
From a safety perspective, MotoGP needs to take a hard look at the calendar and when they schedule races (this year aside, of course, because of the influence of the Pandemic). Philip Island needs to happen in the warmer Southern Hemisphere months. The tropical races need to get pushed to the colder months. It looked downright dangerous out there from a track perspective (greasy AF), gear perspective (Yamaha's engine problems?) and a health perspective (heat stroke is a real thing, I've been pushed into it from competition and I wasn't right for 1-2 weeks after).
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
Oh, and this. I'm fully on board the Binder train. Look a little like Marc?

I bet Honda is wishing they sniped him instead of getting Pol. KTM has a gem they just need to match it with the bike. At the very least the future of Moto GP looks bright with all the young guys there and coming.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
I missed this last round (or maybe I didn't watch Moto2 last round) but how did Sam Lowes get a Marc VDS ride? Dude can't keep himself off the pavement.

Agreed on no asterisk, there is zero reason for it even if MM is out all season. MotoGP’s biggest Dbag, Alberto Puig, would like us all to see it differently. He had some shitty comments for Simon Crafar during a FP2 interview last weekend as well, such a twat.

Hes a good rider with experience. Probably has some backing money too but don't know for sure. Canet has been impressing me this year. Not on the hot chassis but getting it done. On the other side I'm a bit confused by Gardner. Shows moments of brilliance but it never seems to pay off. And why did they choose last years bike? Seems like a bad choice at this point.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
'm thinking Lowes has money and/or Dorna support. They seem to want/need Brits in the series badly for marketing purposes.

I think that's a longer stay than we have here in the US after a successful REcapitation surgery...
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
Definitely puts MM out of title contention. imo best plan would be to heal up and then treat the rest of the season as an extended test sessions - get the bike (and the body) ready for 2021.
Re: MotoGP 2020 (Spoilers)
Roberts on pole for Moto2. Hopefully he can keep it up there for the race. WTF Ducati? Last year's bike on pole and this year's bike best is 9th with their two best riders not getting out of Q1? Yikes.

Outstanding races this weekend. Hopefully the rest of the year is this good. Everyone still has a shot at the championship.
