Now. I bought one after racing Sunday, and they were going like you wouldn't believe. Some people bought 2. They'll be @ the banquet also if there are any left, but I'd get after it fairly soon if I really wanted one.

I didn't even know the fuckin thing was there until one of the woods which ever the fuck one it is that does the riders meeting mentioned that it caused 5 crashes. I'm gonna say that it probably wasn't the line but folks had something to blame it on instead of themselves so they did.

Yeah, you're right KB, probably just a WICKED big coincidence we had so many guys go down in 1A......nothing to do with the white stripe at all.

AND a guy who's been around that track a thousand times more than anyone else, stating that the "line" caused 5 crashes!!!
Hmmmmmm.......

Re: NO NEGATIVE POSTS IN THE CHATROOMS GUYS
I'm still trying to figure out how facts posted in "chat rooms" are considered negative comments?
I mean, if facts are facts......:dunno:
In my expreience, if someone says they care about you they usually tend to ask your opinion on something significant which affects you *before* they act on something. This is not what is happening when decisions such as painted lines or deciding between RFID or rider-purchased transponders for timing is happening.
Why is it the officials don't choose to seek the riders' input prior to certain actions being made?

Re: NO NEGATIVE POSTS IN THE CHATROOMS GUYS
How bout this...Jerry Gappens or Tom Blanchette, which ever one said that at the riders meeting, signs up for NESR, gets himself a cool screen name, like chatroomssuck or something, and debates it on here with the rest of us? Maybe I'll call him with the idea?

Could it have been a coincidence that it was cold as a witches tit and most of those 5 crashes were novice?

does this mean they're gonna run Legends cars during LRRS events?

Re: NO NEGATIVE POSTS IN THE CHATROOMS GUYS
What the fuck is going on in here?
I did my fastest lap times ever this past weekend... On line, off line, I had ZERO issues in 1a. Like KB, I didn't even realize anything was different until Eric mentioned it in the rider's meeting. Was there a little less traction on the white line? Maybe... but if you know how to deal with tires that are sliding there shouldn't really be any problem. I wonder how many track day riders crashed there in the rain today.

When was the last time they charged you 25 fuckin bucks to watch races on Sunday?
Cuz it wasn't this year.

Recieved. Thanks.
I was thnking about a New Racer Mentor Program. Maybe a list of volunteers that would allow a new racer to pit next to them. Show them where grid sheets are, time sheets, tech, practice, etc. remove some of that anxiety new racers have. Won't put fans in the stands but may have some small impact on the size of our grids. Opinions?
ps. brian from plymouth could be the first mentored

They didn't, because I wouldn't pay it.
"During all LRRS event weekends, infield passes (good for the entire weekend) can be purchased at the speedway's main gate for $25"

You just don't learn, do you? Your position (and that of others who share it) is, quite simply, inane. If you want to suck up to NHIS corporate to promote your track day business relationship, do it somewhere else. ...or at least be honest about it.

Promoting a trackday? Are you high?
A painted line has less traction, if you can't slide the tire for the fraction of a second you pass over it then work on your ability. The only reason a bike gets crashed other than a major mechanical is ability.

Re: NO NEGATIVE POSTS IN THE CHATROOMS GUYS
wow guys...
I wouldn't normally chime into this... but I've said it before and I'll say it again. LRRS, the track, the officials, etc are not an evil empire plotting against you and your hobbies. If you have an idea/opinion shoot them an email or something, pretty sure thats all they're asking.
As far as the white line goes, I didn't ride it but I hadn't heard anything about it until this thread. I do find it amusing that with all of the not-so-ideal things about Loudon, you guys are bitching about a line on the pavement. A line that apparently a lot of faster people didn't even notice (or care about).
Just a thought, but with declining registrations maybe actively pissing off the people that run the races isn't the best approach.
