Are you already drilled, or are you just starting that tonight?

Re: Ok, need advice. Next week is my first race....help me be prepared!
I'm far from an expert on this, but I have done it recently...
I tried 2 very different methods of drilling (I don't have a drill press).
I started with what I considered the right way, which was my corded 1/2" drill with a solid mechanical chuck. For drilling I was center punching the face, then putting it in the vice and drilling away (using some left over fork oil for cutting oil, not ideal, but better than nothing). I broke bits like mad.
One time I decided to get my handy dandy coordless screw gun with a hand chuck and try that. Worked much better than the "official" drill. Bits might "spin out" of the chuck, but rarely broke. I might have to reverse them out, but they weren't breaking. Cut my drilling time in about 1/4" once I'd switched from doing it what I believed to be the correct way to doing it the way I discovered to be easier. YMMV.
You're clear on what requires drilling?

Talk to Miles at Street and Comp he might have something. Eric might also still have stuff left from his Ducati days. He might be able to help.

Home Depot and Lowes is just down 106 in Concord. There's also an Advanced Auto. I think I might have one at home, but I'm just as far from the track as those places are.

If they don't have one that fits, maybe you can link two of them together.

Yes, but it's made from adamantium and saved you .00000002 ounces over normal steel

Did the new rookies get a garage this weekend? Which one?
-
Re: Ok, need advice. Next week is my first race....help me be prepared!
Two rookies I know are garaged with Faucher & co in center 2 or whatever that is. When I left they were tucked in and in need of an adult beverage.
