Talk to Eric (or anybody thats fast) as much as possible.... even in the advanced school its a very general "how to get faster" program, but if you already know a lot of the tips (which you very well may doc) and you mention that to one of the instructors they'll make sure you get a chance to work one on one with someone who can really improve on your riding.

i need a pre season refresher at least...i've been trying to decide between a tonys day, or doing the basic penguin class again...this might be another option to ponder.

Well I will be in Cali for the April weekend and I have my Motorcycle Awareness day the 1st May weekend.

This is just the ticket to blow the cobwebs off the Hawk and outta my leathers.

I personally did not get to much out of the advanced school.... it was many years ago - maybe too ealy in am ranks to take advantage of it....

BUT......Their two day pro school normally held later in the year is well worth the effort.... just a few riders and you get one of the Wood's CLOSE attention all 2 days...... track walk is 3 hrs first morning which gets you to T3, the rest day 2 morning.... (Talks both about big bike and little bike stuff). You probably should know 90% of what he is saying but that other 10% is “jewel-in-the-crown" stuff....
They hide in various spots and have reems of notes on you:-) for feedback...

Advanced am's or expert racer gets the most out of it...it's all about fine tuning your line, markers, throttle, braking deeeeeeeeeep...

you get wacked if you are not in one of only three states....cornering hard, hard on the binders, or whacking the throttle.... and when you just can't get any faster Eric comes on the inside of you, looks back and left hand indicates - now go to full throttle - and he's still not at the Nascar transition...!! Well worth the humiliation....

The 2 day school is next on the list.

I am taking the advanced school to learn some stuff before my season and help dust off the cobwebs since there are no trackdays that I can do prior to this.

I liked that part about applying the brakes. Gradually. Kinder in a linear fashion. To full on. So as not to upset the suspension. Then releasing them the same way. Gradually. So you maintain traction. Does this make sense?

Bring a note pad and take lots of notes. You will be overwhelmed with info. After the track walk which you probably will not finish pick a single section to work on and talk to Eric about it over and over.

We actually finished our track walk on schedule last time out... that alone was worth the price of admission. And yeah, prepare to be overwhelmed. After one session Eric pulled me into the Penguin garage and just unloaded on me, turn by turn. 3 pages of rapid fire notes later, he foolishly asked 'any questions?'
