Got some Marchesinis

So my used set of Marchesini wheels for the 2 smoke just came in from Chuck Actor in Japan. The wheels look great, and so do the brand new slicks.. they're b-stones but I am not fast enough to even notice a difference I'm sure.

It actually took me longer than I thought it would to track down a spare set of wheels for that thing, but now I'm set - just in time for the snow.. lol

Thanks KB. I honestly know nothing about being competitive on anything yet.. lol. I'd have to say of course you could IF you arent too tall. They make extended tail sections in that event. You are more than welcome to throw a leg over my 125, and then laugh at how small it feels. My 6'4" buddy sat on it and had trouble getting behind the windscreen without a helmet on.. lol.

Jeff, I'm not sure yet, but I intend to weigh them VS the stockers to see. I want to say its around 2 lbs each. But I cant remember where I read that.

Nice, I'd like to weigh them next to my new mag marvics... I think the marchesinis are lighter...

I noticed a nice handling improvement with mine, but I kinda think it's because they are stiffer than the stockers...

You really think the stock wheels flex that much while riding? Now if I'm not mistaken, Marchesini made both forged aluminum and forged magnesium in various wheels. Not sure if they made both types of 125 wheels, but I am fairly sure mine are aluminum based on everything I've found online.

Marchesini makes the Espada (currently), which appears to be lighter than mine (thinner spokes), and they weigh in at 2.35kg front and 2.85kg rear.

Marvic appears to make two types of magnesium 125 wheels, the Penta (which I assume you have) and the Assen. Penta weighs in at 2.5kg front and 3kg rear. Assen is 1.6kg front and 1.9kg rear.

Magnesium is 33% lighter than aluminum, so I'm willing to bet my wheels with the thicker spokes than the Espada weigh a bit more than your Pentas. I'm even surprised at the Marvics weighing slightly more, but then, this is the internet.. and we all know the internet is a toilet bowl. I will just weigh them. LOL

I have the Pentas. Yes, i think the stocke wheels flex quite a bit under hard braking and cornering. The amount of grip these bikes have is phenomenal...

The pentas have triangular spokes as opposed to the U shaped spokes that the stockers have. That got to be a huge increase in stiffness.

hollow triangulated? Are those cast? Yeah you're right, the open ended U spokes will be much less rigid than a enclosed/boxed type. Damn it, I want to race.
