    Question power commander woes..

Ok so installed this here power commander thingy....loaded that map then went for a ride. I went to work and back...no problem..then went out for a ride a couple of days later and the bike crapped out about 2 miles from my house and would not start again. I disconnected it and it was fine. This weekend I gave it another whirl..hooked it up and loaded the map. Took it for a ride last night..idled good..warmed up and I went to the gas station. Everything seemed fine until I got about 1 1/2 from the station and it crapped out again...awesome. well i moved the ground from the frame to the battery and this seemed to clear the issue up. Could this have been the problem or do i have a bad power commander? bad map? I rode around for about 30mins after that without issue...

    power commander woes..

A bad power/ground connection was most likely the problem. I had the same deal last year at the gap and it turned out to be a lose ground wire.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

    power commander woes..

cool..i hope so. The ground was not loose but i did not scrape the paint off of the frame....and it worked for a little bit then crapped out... seems to me if the gorund was bad it wouldnt have run right from the begining...that's why i am still concerned

    power commander woes..

Your ground may have been good enough when you first connected it but it does not take long for corrosion to build up and make the ground no longer good enough. It could have even been that the ground loosend up just a little bit but that little bit was the part that was making it a good ground before.

Grounding to the battery a good thing

They are known for grounding issues. Connecting to the battery should fix it right up.

    power commander woes..

Is there any reason not to ground to the battery? I know I grounded my PC3 to the battery and I"m 90% sure all my other stuff is also grounded to the battery, any reason NOT to do this other then having a mess of stuff connected?
