How One Pro Rider Did A Whole Season On A $1,600 Craigslist Bike

Makes me and my low-buck LRRS attempt look like a chump.

    NH's own Pete Oliver.

    Awesome!
This is like my race experience, except for the 20,000 miles of travel, the TV coverage, the fans, the cops, the parties, the blown motor, and the injury. Other than that, same-same.

"on a $1,600 bike" is a bit misleading if he dropped $2,500 into it....

Which is still dirt cheap for something competing at the top level. There are guys that have $3k + in JUST THEIR FRONT BRAKE SETUP in the AMA.

    Nice write up.

Pete, and those guys up at Boxshop are like my second race family.

They didn't mention he makes a mean, trackside steak and chicken tacos.

The pit food those guys kick out is always top notch. Plus, just a bunch of real down to earth good people to hang out with. No egos, plenty of bench racing and ball busting, all around good crew.
