round 1 sucks when you can't race

I had a freak accident at home just before leaving for the track early Saturday morning, ended up with a big headache and a trip to Urgent Care getting a few staples to close the gash in my head. Is there a smiley that let's me bitch slap myself? I went to the track for a few hours anyway, got some new tires mounted at S&C, said hi to my pit mates, watched the rookie race and a few more. It sucked being there and not racing, and it sucked again today.

Yup, missing round 1 sucks. I missed round 1 two years ago after knocking myself out and bending my bike in the bowl during Thursday practice...

Instead, I spilled water on the floor while rushing to make my lunch (the very last thing I had to do before leaving for the track), soaked it up with a towel, then stood up very aggressively under the open kitchen cabinet door. And when they staple your head without numbing anything it feels exactly like they are slowly stapling your head.

Last August my Mom & me had just departed for the track. We rolled over on I290. The new camper was totaled. The truck was totaled. And the racebike is a mess. The toolbox was spread over the highway....The worst? My mom spent a week in IC. Another week in a regular ward then about 3 weeks in a rehab. She is 100% today cause she always took good care of herself. My mom just turned __ . But I will give you a hint. I am the second kid and I am 58. The family gave her a surprise party at Wright's Chicken Farm.

I can't decide if I should take the doors off or just stop packing my lunch. The staples came out yesterday in any case, and I'm ready NOW. Will try to roam around and say hi to the new guys if I have a chance, but I'll be set up in the infield (they should call it the outfield).
