The plan was to take the advanced Penguin class with Bentbryan so i got to the track Thursday evening to set up and be ready first thing Friday morning. All week at work i had been fighting a cold or allergies and was hoping it'd clear up but no such luck and i had to back out It was kinda nice to just relax and hang out all day Friday though and still manage to enter the afternoon practice.
Would you beleive a helocopter landed in the infield? Look in the picture between the trailer with the honda wing and the white ez-ups...
We had a small fire that night and a few beers to set the mood A few nesr members also showed up that evening setting up tents and working on bikes for the next days fun...
Saturday morning was cloudy and cool but it wasn't wet at all. I didn't pre-reg this weekend so that was my first move in the morning. I was in the post entry line at 6:50am and on my way back to the infield at 7:02am, that has to be some sort of post-entry record Made tech no problems and was ready to go. It was pick on Bryan day for the tech person that checked his bike, he had to put these big number plate tent things on the bike even though the numbers were fine at past events
Nice lookin, ehh?
Practice went ok, it was my first time riding with the experts and i realized pretty quick just how slow i was out there I had the same slow feeling in my race
I had a pretty bad grid possition but i kinda expected that, i was last on the grid but at least i didn't have to worry about someone slamming into me Race #3, GTL 1/2 hour race, i don't know how many entries there were in it but i know there were 4 or 5 DNF's in my race alone, i finished 12th and in the same possition i started in It was a fun race and i'm going to stick with the GTL race for the season as i feel i'll learn the most from the endurance races.
That was it for me for the day, i was expecting it to rain so i didn't bother to enter Thunderbikes, though i wish i did because it cleared up for most of the afternoon. I took advantage of the sunshine and took some pit pictures. I was going to make the rounds to all the nesr member bikes but i got distracted

That night we gathered some more firewood from out back and had another fire and some more drinks and a lot of laughs. I have some other pictures but i promissed not to post them

Jane telling me how much she likes me
A Nikon sighting, saying the same thing as Jane.....
Was it something i said
The following morning was dry!!!! I over slept a little bit because i was so sure it would be raining and i wouldn't bother with the morning practice. I got my gear and bike ready in short order and made the 8:15 first practice. It was chilly and damp feeling but not raining. The conditions didn't change so i also went out for the 9:45am practice. I'm glad i made them both because it was a nice way to end the weekend, and i also got my best lap time of the weekend in the second practice, still 4 seconds off from last years times but that seemed to be the norm for the average riders that weekend.
The rain gods gave us a brake all weekend and at high noon on Sunday, they opened up. I packed up all my stuff and hung out for a bit and watched race 1 and 2 and was on my way home early for the second weekend And to top that off, just like the last race weekend, the sun was out when i got home
It was good to see everyone there Nazo, Darkchyld?, Nikon, Jayannus, Pinehead...etc to many names, good to see so many people show up.
I hope you had a safe ride home Nikon, it did dry up quick again once i was 10 miles away from Loudon...
See everyone again in 4 weeks
And someone was very happy to see me when i got home, she dropped what she was doing and charged at me as soon as she saw me
