race lid. corsair v, x twelve, bell star.

....after popping my new helmet last round (what a sound that is) i need a new one for next round. Luckily for me a local sponsor of mine offered to pick up the bill for a helmet of my choice. ive tried on all three of the above listed and they all fit me great in a medium. i know they are all good helmets. but what do you guys think?

i'd say the Arai RX-Q. i'm on my 2nd one
the Corsair V is essentially the RX-Q but with more plastic wings and shit to break off in a tumble.

I have both, the Arai Corsair V is my primary and the RX-Q is a spare. For some reason the Corsair V fits my melon just a little better, but that's not to say the RX-Q doesn't fit well. So for me, I'd choose a Corsair V first, the RX-Q second. Since someone else is picking up the tab for Cotter, I'd say ... first and foremost, go with which ever one fits the best ... second, assuming both fit equally well, go with the the Corsair V if you're not on a budget. If you're on a budget, the RX-Q is a very, very nice alternative.

Suomy Extreme/Excel or the new SR Sport.

for the choices you listed I'd be all over a Corsair V. does this sponsor know they go for some big bucks?

the excel fits just like the older corsair but incredibly difficult to get my glasses in so I never bought one. Suomy makes theirs so its easy to get glasses in. not that you have that issue.

The Corsair V and RX-Q are different shell shapes so make sure you try them on. Heck go with the one that fits you the best...my vote is for the V though if it fits.

Love my Bell Star. Fit my head perfectly out of all the other ones. Ventilation is best I've experienced and it comes with a sweet padded carry bag. I'm planning to get the transitions shield for it too - i think they're the only company that has that

Another vote for the Star...it's like air conditioning for your head....not really, but the vents are fantastic! I like it better than my suomy extreme...

^ THIS, precisely for me anyway. And the photo-chromatic shield is outstanding.

I was going to go the exact opposite, get the least expensive one that fits you correctly and you are comfortable racing in protection wise, and hope that they would pick up the next one too because you didn't pipe them on this one LOL

    Get whatever you want.
