If they're racing those at LRRS, I'm bringing my 70 to destroy them. : )

The USCRA runs a "Screaming 50's" class, a mix of vintage and modern 50's and 80's. For the vintage classes the quick hookup would be a Honda MB-5, Cosmo Motors sold USCRA members about 30 Riejus at about $1,200 a pop. Carl McAllister was boasting a personal best of a 1:41.3 on his Rieju. Jeff Wood took it out and within 5 laps got down to a 1:37.3! I've been trying to convince Heath Smith to run his pit bike, but so far no dice! There is a minimum rim diameter in the rules, so no YSR50's. Here's a good mix of stuff to ride:

They need to stop when they pull into the garage. Mary Branson (#917) used to kick ass on a regular basis because she was about 80 lbs lighter than the rest of the boys! Once she got going, she didn't even shift, just kept the throttle pegged and steered around the track.

Re: Since when do we race these at Loudon?

You can thank the Bransons for getting interested in the USCRA. That 72cc Honda motor in Mary's machine was my target to beat my first year mini racing. John managed to squeeze over 8hp out of it. Based on the info he posted on his site, as well as some conversations with him via email, I eventually got to 7hp before punching the motor out for a new set of racing rules.

    Damn nice guy.

There have got to be enough pitbikes/small motards/mini-gp machines etc to justify a garbage class... : )

John built such a good motor, people grumbled about legality. Tell me, what looks illegal about this?

If you can dig up a DT50, you're all set. Basically a YSR50 without the fairing and with big wheels.

AAMRR used to do that. Mostly Dandy Pocket Racers entered each time. Just to make it interesting, full leathers and helmet were required.
