    Shopping and comparing;

Chicken Hawks, standard; 394.00, no control over heat setting; you leave them on and fry your tires, oh well.

Chicken Hawk Pole Position; 500.00 three temp settings, all pretty hot, you leave them on and fry your tires,.,..

Chicken Hawk Pro Line (digital) - 650.00

Woodcraft tire bakers: 520.00 through Pete, delivered to the track, digital temp reading; you set 'em, put them on 90 and leave them all day, your tire will not heat cycle.

I'm buying the bakers, I've seen them work, I've been through the Chicken Hawks in the rain - bu-bye, needs to have thermostats replaced. CH is 3-4weeks behind in manuf.

Bakers are made by the Woods; they are local to us New Englanders.

    Support your local racers!

PS, I saw them in the Penguin Garage, next race weekend, I'm going to look to see what temps others are running.

I'll sell my suzuka/chicken hawks for what I paid if anyone wants them and jump on a set of these.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I have set of the Digital Bakers and they are awesome. Just plug em in and walk away, leave em on all day long. Putting on rain tires, simple button lower the temp to anything you like.

Eric did extensive research along with Brian Baker in designing these.

they are a lil larger than chicken hawks but they curve nicely around the tire sidewall and rim. the insulation make them a tad bulkier but this stuff won't burn through, very good stuff

the bakers are nice., i just got a set., but they go on hard at first ., will take some time to break in., they do not go on as easy as the CH.,

and the standard CH work great too., they do NOT cook the tire., they have thermostats in them too., and they are $325 from LP.,

but i already like the bakers more than the CH..... so you get what you pay for...

    No digital option.
I called someone from WERA.com selling these, they stated PDI was 4 weeks out in manuf, same as CH.

I need tire warmers for next weekend, I like Jeff and Eric and doing business with the locals; we have a set being delivered to the pit next weekend.

If I leave my CH on all day it will heat cycle the tires. If I keep turning them on and off (like now) the tires will take many heat cycles.
I want them on about 90-100 until I need them heated up.

Dan., i leave mine on all day ., turning them on and off is worse., that adds heat cycles to the tire., heat cycle is to heat then let cool., etc., but also leaving the warmers on all day is harsh too., depending how far apart your races are !?!? i do 3-4 races a day so ther eis no real break long enough to not have them plugged in all the time., and i have never cooked a tire on the warmers !!!!!

and as for comparing the Bakers to PDI., the PD's are not even close .... like comparing a yugo to a cadi .....

these are not cheap warmers., they are made to be used alot...
and the woods being local and easy to deal with helps ALOT....

These are by FAR the best product in class.

Digital Chickens: $689.00-$659.00 and dealing with CH sucks ass!

If the buy is still going on through Pete: $520.00 gets you a superior product!!!

    buy your digital Tire Bakers!!!
