    Re: Race Trailer set-ups.

I know Adam has gladiator racking to hang his stands with from the wall of the trailer. I went with a rubbermaid system from Home Depot and it has failed once, so I can't recommend it.

Also one thing I am thinking of building is some sort of tire/spare wheel rack.

Do you guys think the pit bull system in worth the money? Could you ride up a ramp without worrying the pit bull would hit or get caught? I watch their video, it looks nice.

Hell yes. And you hang it up with the bungee cord it comes with. I'll never go back to tie downs...ever.

I'm bring a camera up next weekend to take pic of what other have done. I'm building a U-haul E-350 diesel special. That should keep me busy over the winter.

I got this spare trailer tire mount idea off Wera. I used a 1 1/4" flange, an 1 1/4" 3 inch long threaded section, and an 1 1/4" PVC threaded "T" section. It works really great. These are NOT my pics, but they show how its put together:

It's not my spare tire ... its someone else's spare, and it definitely could use some attention....

Damn...that looks like a great idea. I had seen someone do spares with a rod sticking out permanently and wasn't a fan cause I would walk into it. This on the other hand is brilliant.

I'm not certain but hit "reply to thread", not "post quick reply". The third to last icon looks like a pic of a tree.
put your courser over it and it says "Insert Image".
Select "from computer" or "from URL"
if you selected "From Computer" Click "Select Files"
your file folders should open up , click the one your pics are in.
click on the picture you want and hit save.
    click "up load"

I'm not a computer person so if a pic of me in t6 show up in this post, follow my poorly written instructions. If not pic, disregard, I have no idea what I'm doing.

    Re: Race Trailer set-ups.

Plastic shelf, I've used this one from HD. Lets you store a ridiculous amount of stuff in a small footprint. Its light and you can customize it by cutting the uprights if you want. Bolt it to the wall with some 1.5" pipe straps. You can throw bungees around/through the shelves to secure stuff. HD also sells these black storage bins w/ yellow removable tops. They fit perfectly in this particular shelf.

I bolted some steel L-stock w/ predrilled holes to a crossmember for hanging suits. I did have to enlarge the holes a little bit, but cheap and effective. You can see it in the picture. Just be aware of how strong/weak your roof is before deciding how many suits to hang like this (mine was totally fine w/ 4 suits).

The rear plaform I made out of e-track and 2x was pretty kick-ass for 2 reasons: makes use of normally wasted space and allows you to counter-balance tongue weight if needed. I'd normally throw 1-2 large storage bins on it + cooler. Pic below.

    Re: Race Trailer set-ups.

ok here goes, hopefully they're not ginormous, lol
I have noticed that the most under-utilized space in these trailers is the top half. I figured I'd try to get gear off the floor to leave more room for bigger stuff. (like golf carts, lol)

Oh, and a huge YES on the Pitbull restraints. I have 5 and with 5 bikes in the trailer, that would be a spiderweb of straps. They are def the bomb.

I've seen people using Craftsman VersaTrak in their rigs. Any tips on that? May pick some up at Sears.

This rack system & cabinet stuff looks pretty good, too. www.gladiatorgarageworks.com

    Re: Race Trailer set-ups.

When I bought a trailer I decided I was gonna buy 2 things a month from Pit Posse. Thats what I did the first month. Then I decided to go to lowes and I bought some polished diamond plate and some band iron and I just made my one off own stuff. I made a fire extiquisher holder, a rubber glove box dispensor holder, shop towel holder, flashlight holder, helmet holder, cord holders. I wanna make a folding chair holder.

    Re: Race Trailer set-ups.

I plan on stripping out every thing, insulating the walls (I already did the ceiling) re-do the walls with 1/4 plywood and put luan on the ceiling. I want to put carpet on the walls and put some on the floor for the winter and ice riding. upgrade my 12 volt system and my 120 system upgrade stereo maybe a new dvd/tv set up.

I missed the "holder" part the first time. That brought up some funny images, and uncomfortable.
