Anyway, my point is, if you do any of this stuff wrong you could aggravate, worsen, or create new injuries.

agreed 100%, just like everything else do your homework before you dive head first into it. like i said earlier, dont be afraid to ask questions

Hey, don't feel bad, Doc. I never officially entered the competition (cause percentage-wise there was no way I was gonna win), and I lost like 7 pounds over the holidays. I am stuck at 140 since January...hitting all sorts of roadblocks, changed my diet, kept exercising. It sucks.

Hey john your bi weekly visits to the vacuum doctor don't count

ps I have way more to lose and could just pull this off with a little help from my ephedra poppin friend over there in Canada

I have only been at it for 7 days and I have dropped 15 lbs

The eliptical and my dead buddy atkins are doing the trick for me. throw in a little real world trainning on the quad in the snow and I have three weeks to kick the fat out before VIR

    WooHoo VIR

Always trying to one up me huh!?!?

Just remember construction accidents happen every day

Epedra aint so bad, wish I could still get some

I would seriously be careful about the atkins diet, you NEED so many carbs a day just to function properly.

If you want to loose weight (anyone that is) follow this

10 or less saturated fats a day

    NO trans fats

Stop eating 3 hours before you go to bed.

No fast food (but you really can't to stay under 10 sats a day)

Hard time with sweets? Drink white grapefruit juice it will work.

    Want to fast track it?

Add running 2 or better miles 4 times a week.

And for all who know me and say "yeah whatever your fat" I did it 4 years ago. Lost 50 pounds in about 3 months. Unfortunately I tried resting on my laurels and gained it all plus some back. But I'm on my way to doing it again.

Oh yeah, Kiera. Save it! You are skinny and need to loose no weight. If anything just tone up. Weight lose should be the leist of your concerns.

You can get ephedrine again in the states. Check out one of your local Muscle head vitamin supply shops. Not GNC but one of those ones you can get the HGH at.

Well, though you are entitled to your opinion, according to my doctor, taking into account my height, build (read: bone structure), age and history of back and knee problems, losing 10 pounds is actually a very good idea. Please don't chastise me for trying to be healthy. Just because I shouldn't lose 30, 50, 100 or more pounds doesn't mean I shouldn't lose some.

Remember, a guy who is my age and height will most likely be healthier at a heavier weight than a woman due to bone size and basic biological composition. Men are (typically) more likely to carry a heavier load of muscle mass than women, and women are, by nature, designed to carry more fat cells. I'm not even going to get into genetics (cause I hardly know anything about them than what my doctors have told me relating to me).

You got boobs which are mostly fat cells, and hips, and bum bum. You're designed to bear child. This is why you have those extra fat cells. I'm just fat!

Re: Racer Conditioning Program. If your fat read this.

I teach core training classes and focus primarily on body weight training.
I'm also training right now to teach kickboxing classes
My class is 45 minutes long and is a great workout.
For all you racer guys concentrate on lunges , abs , and obliques .
For upper body I recommend pull-ups chin-ups and push ups.
I see people at the gym all the time using weights and they are one step away from injuring themselves due to lack of knowledge of how to train properly.
I have a printed workout program if anyone is interested .
And most important is plenty of water and stretching.
For guts and butts you got to attck your core and every thing else shall follow suit.
I also take yoga which has helped me recover form a horrendous back injury

I would also like a good core routene to follow. That's my biggest problem, a horrible pear shape

Nefarious-Sounds almost the same as what I have done. That's great since you have a few years on me

How tall are you? I'm 5'11" and 190-200 is ideal for me...its just tough staying at that weight.

Re: Racer Conditioning Program. If your fat read this.

    BUMP....

What's everyone planning on for the off season?

    My history:
    Summer 2004: 182 lbs
    Summer 2005: 220 lbs
    Summer 2006: 225 lbs
    Summer 2007: 240 lbs(holy shit fatass)
Spring 2008: Back down to 205 lbs
    2 Weeks ago: 215 lbs
    Now: 205 lbs

    Goals: Under 200 by Christmas
    -180 by April

The drop from 240 to 205 between August/September '07 and April '08 was attributed to getting back in the gym on a regular basis(4-5 days a week) focusing mainly on cardio, greatly reducing my diet(eliminating all soda/high sugar content drinks, eliminating any fried foods) and taking Hydroxycut. Initial drop was pretty significant and then came down to a healthy loss of 3-4 lbs a week.
