I have a weird body where my torso is one size bigger than my legs. So the new Size 42 one piece suit I bought is perfect in the torso and long in the legs. Knee pucks are in the wrong spot and I am rubbing the suit itself at times when leaning over aggressively - I need the legs taken down an inch or two.
I am wondering if there are any local tailors / shops that do custom alterations. If they are local, that would be awesome as I can go there and put the suit on and show them exactly what the issue is. Otherwise, I can probably show them photos and try and explain over the phone while I ship the suit to them.
I called Todd @ Heroic already and he is too busy for alterations. Does Vanson do alterations on other brand suits (my suit is an Alpinestars). Any other recommendations?
Thanks guys.

Call Vanson up I'm pretty sure they will do it, you'll probably have to go there for measurements though. I know you can take your own measurements and send them in with your suite but if your off it's an expensive ooops....lol.

Jenne Leather in Saratoga NY does great work too. She has done a bunch of work for me over the years and it's always first rate.

Not local, but the turnaround was good for me anyways. I had her clean my suit over the winter and from the time I shipped it, to the time I got it back was less than 2 weeks.

Thanks for the tip. I called Jenne and she sounded really easy to work with. I am going to meet her on my way up to NYST June 1st, so she can see me in the suit and take measurements, then ship the suit to her after the weekend is over (or drop off on my way back to Boston). She said she'd be able to get it done in a week or two which is awesome.
Will post an update once done.
An update on this - met with Jen in person on my way back from NYST. She took plenty of time and had me put on the suit and took measurements. Seems like a very nice person and was easy to work with.
Unfortunately, she didn't think she could handle the alteration that I need - remove an inch and a half between hip and knees from a one piece suit. The armor in my knee area seems to be sowed right into the suit and she didn't feel comfortable cutting a nice suit without being 100% sure she could stitch everything back with a top stitch.
So we just landed on a work around. I'm going to epoxy more Velcro to the legs so that I can just move the knee pucks up to where they need to be and leave the suit itself unaltered (pucks are currently too low because the legs are too long in the thigh area).
Thanks for your suggestion rada.

OK here's an update to close this one out. My original problem was that the knee pucks were too low (suit's legs were too long for me). After Jen said she couldn't handle shortening the legs, I decided to just glue on more velcro to move the pucks up before exploring sending suit out to another repair shop.
I used "barge cement" to glue the velcro. I found it to be the leather glue of choice based on Amazon reviews. It seems to be pretty heavy duty.
I then moved the pucks up and it has fixed my problem. Here's the before and after photos showing puck wear.
For now I am going to leave the suit alone. Glad to have "solved" this problem the easy way. Credit to Jen for making this suggestion. She seemed good to work with, I'd recommend her if anyone's looking for suit repair. Thanks Rada.

Is everyone swamped this time of year? Need a sleeve repair.
Attachment 51228Thanks. Just emailed him to see if he can repair the stretch panel I tore.
I'm not in a rush as I have surgery scheduled, just want to get it in the works. Couple other shops responded but I'd have to ship it.
