Nice work taking the conversation to 5th grade, Chris.

"Chris" haha, I knew it would tear your tissue skin... All of your chuckles have gone bye bye in daddy hood... Even on the holiday!

People can lead a pack on a Buell Blast, but the guy is just looking for an answer. He stated he was doing a 520 conversion, so while he's buying, why not buy the gear he will hopefully take advantage of (I realize this is $40-60 we're talking about, but cost savings was mentioned). In my mind, this saves him more money in the long run, rather than buy stock gearing 'cause paul said so, then buy the taller gear 'cause he needs it later on. People will fall into both theories on this, but apples to cornflakes comparisons aren't helping him.

Re: recommended Loudon gearing for a 600?

when I asked about this last year all the GSXR guys told me to go 15/48. I went to www.gearingcommander.com and figured out that with a 190/55 rear tire and that gearing on the 06-10 GSXR it would top out at 132.8mph. Rather than listen to them on the tooth number I used that top speed as the basis for what I chose because the tranny ratios are totally different. my 15/45 set up gives a top speed of 132.4mph. I thought doing it that way a much better way than just going with a specific number of teeth on the rear. I don't know what you R6 guys are running but the closest equivalent would be 15/50 at 132.2mph on the 06/07 years.

I still agree with Bergs that stock gearing would be fine for the OP. it didn't become a problem till somewhere around 21-22s I think. around there I was either redlining it or making a shift and then going right back down a second later. It was mostly a problem from T2-3. I was always right between where I wanted it. I think if I kept at it and got better than I would have tipped the scales back in favor of the gearing and it would have been ok again. once I switched though it put me in a better part of the rpm range. a few more shifts a lap made it more fun also. so like I said if his stock parts are in good condition I say run them for awhile. if they need changing anyway then go with the different gearing.

That is -1 +2, which i agree with... that top speed doesn't seem accurate at first glance.

That would be way off for an R6.

-1/+3 actually. I'm not sure if the top speed is accurate either I just used it as a guide. When I go to Grattan later this year I should be topping out 6th if that's accurate.

I thought that seemed really weird for an R6 but don't know anything about the gearing on them from people who actually ride them.

The "because Paul said so" comment, making this personal like I've lost my sense of humor as well as your dick comment, all of it I can do without. I'm more surprised than anything to see you participating at that level in any conversation.

Oh and BTW; I've called you Chris since I met you. Not sure what that comment is based on.

    What year is your GSXR? My 06 & 07's came 16 43... making that -1 +2

Guess I'm just a loose cannon, I mean... I'm a meany. When I bring irrelevant self stories about my glory days and my buddies call me on it, I laugh about it. I should have known that you may not. Hope all is well with you bergs.

I don't have a gsxr. I thought you meant what I went with on my bike was -1/+2.

Got ya... I got confused by all the GSXR talk. I have a warm place in my heart for those.
