Hey guys,
Yesterday we had a pretty rough incident in turn 9. There were 2 bikes involved, one rider was able to walk away with minor injuries, and one is in critical condition right now. Rider #446, Chris Dinoia. You may recognize him by his "slowpoke" team bike, older style R6 with day-glow amateur plates.
The track made an attempt to keep all media and people dumb enough to be taking photos behind the garages and away from the scene, which got all sorts of rumors flying. There are cornerworkers and track admins with conflicting feedback, as well as the racer rumor mill.
I am just writing because I was asked by his teammate to ask you all to keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and to hold off on creating news updates with rumors. His family is asking that they have time and space and we'll all respect that. When there are significant updates, Larry or Myself will pass them on at the family's discretion. The important part is that Chris is still with us, and he is built like a bulldog, so he's going to put up a good fight.
Thanks All.

heal quickly fellow racer.
Thanks Kitt,
I started to think the worst when they asked us to close the doors in the North garages facing T11.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
I hope he pulls through...let us know, Kitt.
Thoughts are with him... really hope he's going to be alright.
You weren't the only one, that shook me up a bit but I understand why they did it.
I didn't quite see the incident but I was very close to it, at the end of turn 8, and saw the dust plume and bikes flying... I always shudder when people go off there, it's a very fast and scary spot to lose it.
Keeping Chris in my thoughts for sure... good bunch of guys.
And glad Dave (other rider) is alright

Kitt, thank you for posting this up as I have been hoping you would and would keep us all updated. As corner workers we are involved until the rider is loaded but have A. No updates after that and B. are not able to discuss rider condition. It would be nice if everyone abided by that so rumors wouldnt start.
On a side note, I dont know how attached he was to the necklace he was wearing. It should have ended up in one of his boots, might be something he would want to have close if you want to pass that info on to his family in case they didnt find it.
Thank you for keeping us updated man, my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

He'll be in our thoughts too. I'm glad to hear he's still with us, and I'm wishing him a quick and full recovery from this corner.
Thoughts and prayers going out to him and his family...

Healing thoughts and prayers to him and his family for as long as they need it
It was pretty upsetting. I left soon after they closed the garage doors. It was my first time at the track this year and the first time my wife ever made the journey with me.
My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
Get well soon Chris! I hope everything is alright, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your a fighter out on the track, and I know your going to tough this out. Wishing the best for you and your family.
Thanks for the update Kitt.

Thanks for the update Kitt.
Chris, "slowpoke racing" rings a bell so I'm sure we've met. Regardless, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you a full and fast recovery.
