Going to be a long painful winter of rehab but I can say 100% for sure I will be racing round 1.
It all started with destroying my bike and breaking my hand Saturday morning practice during round 6 which ended my 2015 season. I was determined to get back and do some off road riding so I parted out the bike mostly and got a 2008 crf250r for off season training and maybe for flat tracking. Next hurdle comes in finding out my trailer axle is bent and needs to be replaced which I haven't got to yet. Not a big deal I'm thinking I'll just jack it up and swap it out after my vacation to Aruba I have planned.
Proceed to tear my pectoral major in my right arm on a rope swing in Aruba and needed surgery to reattach the tendon to my arm. 4 weeks in a sling and 4 months until its back to normal.
So day 1 after surgery here I sit counting down the days until I can ride and I know the driving factor in recovery is the need to race next year. Can't wait to see everyone at the track in the spring and get back to the addiction.
Checklist:
:Sell the Ducati street bike to finance the race bike + extra cash
:Get an '08-'12 600 pre-built (wrenching with 1 arm is hard)
:Fix the trailer
:Be able to move my arm
:Be able to ride
:New helmet
:Repair the Suit
Status Report
Day 1: I have taken 6 Oxycodone and can't move my arm
Had to wear the VR shirt to the hospital haha

Ouch. Damn dougie.
Just goes to show you shouldn't do dangerous things like play on a rope swing in Aruba. Stick to safe activities like motorcycle racing :-)
Be sure and do all the PT. It's important.
Be real careful with the pain meds.
Hopefully you can get off them asap.
Good luck.

Ouch, that sucks but pretty good timing for an injury! I'm impressed you managed to fuck yourself up worse on a rope swing than while demolishing your race bike at 100 mph.
Heal up buddy!!

Ouch, heal up quick! Not that it matters, you have 5 months, but heal up quick anyway!

Saw the some of the Aruba picts on the fb. You looked incredibly miserable. But not quite that miserable.
Heal up man.
Maybe I can volunteer to help out with the trailer?

Two weeks down and I'm definitely progressing. Range of motion is increasing slowly but consistently and the pain is gone. Two more weeks in the sling then PT can begin. Today is going to be my first day back to the gym, time to show that stationary bike who's boss. Thanks for the support from everyone, watching Motogp video pass and wasting time on the forum is the only thing keeping me sane.
Update: 9 weeks post surgery, range of motion is almost at 100%, PT is going well (it is painful as shit). I get to start lifting light weights on Monday after my 10 week post-op checkup. I have a new bike lined up and should be picking it up on Saturday (staying in the middleweight class) so I am one step closed to getting back on the bike. I have 93 more days to get into riding shape and I can confidently say I will 100% grid up for LRRS Round 1. Can't wait to see everyone at the track and put this miserable off-season in the past.
