    Rookie Plan for Round 7

My plan for round 7 is to safety wire the bike in advance, turkey pan for the bellypan if I can't get bodywork mounted in time (need to find an upper fairing stay), and do basically everything else at the track, including basic, registration, purchase and install helmet eject thing, rent and install transponder (no idea how that works) and putting numbers on.

Are there any obvious flaws with this plan? Any opportunities to save money that I am missing? On my gen 2 SV I see one vent tube coming out of the tank routed to where the bellypan will be and one vent tube out of the coolant reservoir down to where the bellypan will be. Any further action/catch cans required?

Re: Rookie Plan for Round 7

You have the stock radiator overflow, correct?

Helmet eject takes about 5 minutes.
Make sure that they don't charge you for the transponder. Wire tie it to the forks.
Make sure they give you a 1/2 price discount for your first ?3? races.
Make sure they don't charge you late registration.
I used duct tape for my number plate and bought some expensive #'s from miles.

You could fill out your license form in advance http://www.nhms.com/documents/2014_l...ns_medical.pdf. Give it to Steve mid day and they'll have most of it entered by the time you get there after the day.
If you have any numbers in mind, PM me. I can see what's available right now (I don't know why this isn't public information). This just saves you the hastle of guessing while you're there.

You'll be able to register for a total of 5 races, including the rookie race. You can't sign up for the rookie race on the computer. You have to tell the people that take the money that you want to be in the rookie race, or you won't get gridded for it.

I was told by penguin that rookie garage is 12A. There have evidently been some "squatters" there, but it is available for up to 8 bikes for noobs to use if you don't have other plans.

    I like your plan.

Although, why aren't you signing up for basic ahead of time?

Jason, etc. Tell me about the paperwork. Is that medical thing all of it? Or is there more one could fill out ahead of time?

That's it. Fill out those 2 pages and you're good. I think I confused them because mine were typed and printed.

There's more to fill out on the computer, but you can't do any of that ahead of time.

Maybe, but a really damned solid spaz.

What are the current LRRS fees for entering a race? I'm not finding that information in the rulebook or anywhere google knows about.
I did find this for CCS.

Colin reminded me this isn't true. It is true for middle weights, but depending on the exact race schedule lightweights can compete "up" in the middleweight races (and unlimited for that matter). Lightweights can do more.

Your plan is good. Do as much as you can on your own. Show up early and ask for help. Don't be shy. Come introduce yourself Saturday at the rsp garage. I won't get there til late Friday night.

    Exactly correct. Thanks Sav.

Us noobs, however, can't run GTs. AM and EX only.

The plan should be: show up, DESTROY the competition. End of story.

The rookie garage is a unicorn. I was helped out by some friendly people my weekend when i moved three times looking for the rookie garage. But, I don't think it ever really existed. Sam may have some room in the Amsoil garage if you need a home.

Correct, I ended up renting what was going to be the rookie garage due to a mix up.

So you're saying every noob is welcome to your space? Don't worry, they don't even know where the garages are yet.

Re: Rookie Plan for Round 7

How do I wire the front axle? I know I looked at Petes bike a while ago, can't remember how he did it. Can I just drill thru the fork slider at an angle and into the axle, then loop one wire around with the pigtail in the middle? Or do I actually need to wire it to somewhere else like that pinch bolt at the bottom?

Trying to add a picture, having trouble on my old phone.
