    Smile Rookie & Timers?

Hey All, I finally got a track bike and will be taking it out for the first time at Tony’s TD 7/28. I was wondering if I should buy a timer. My intent is to eventually try racing a few times to see if I like it. Although for now the budget and logistics make that difficult (no trailer or garage etc.) so track days are the starting point. Now I know Tony doesn’t time but wouldn’t this help me to know how I’m doing? Tell your thoughts and possible brands, models to look at if you think it is advisable

    Rookie & Timers?

Timing is not allowed at trackday events due to insurance.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I wouldn't waste $$ on a lap timer just yet. Use the cash for more trackdays or take the advanced Penguin class. (I think you already took the basic?)

    Rookie & Timers?

Yeah I took the basic two years ago. I was thinking about doing that, especially to help get off to a good start with the new ride.

If and when you get a lap timer though, go with XT racing. I have never had a company treat me better in my life.

How much should I expect to spend on a race timer?

    www.google.com

I'd say you'll be spending about retail cost.
