Why is rotor lightening done? It decreases rotational mass. The less weight a rotational item (wheel, rotor, even rotating parts inside the motor) the less power that is required to get these up to speed.

Plus, you can trail break and settle down the rear if needed and use it with out it locking up....

That's pretty sweet! They also make cam chain tensioners (specifically for gixxers), engine stands, and rear wheel alignment tool!

Is an oz or two really noticeable? Price worth the reward I'd what I am asking.

Waking up a long-dormant thread: it looks like Quality Machine Co has fallen off the web. Does anyone know of a place that's still providing this service? Thanks!

    Here you go....

I have retired but I still have several groups of rotors on the shelf. Give me a call and I will check to see if I have one for you. 912-665-1846

I used Jimmy chance at QMC too ... but sadly no more (how dare he retire before the new R6 comes out!).

Anyway, here's a little more updated info on places that are doing rotor lightening: Rotor Lightening Services Thread

I haven't used any of these guys yet though.
