I agree calm down and remember no matter how fast you think you are there is always someone faster so don't ride over your head and cause any RED flags.

Yea, Kip makes me think of 'real advice'.

Like he said, don't go out there and try to set the track on fire and run a 'decent' (whatever you may think that is) laptime right off the bat.

When you get out there will all those other bikes and in a Race situation... just concentrate on.

    - Being Smooth
    - Being Stable (no sporatic movements or line changes)
    - Keeping Calm
    - Keeping it IN PERSPECTIVE

I was in your exact shoes a year ago, trust me I know how you feel

    Season's coming - train!

The stress for me wasn't about my abilities, at all. I is about the things I can't control. Knowing this, I tell myself that I'm either in or out and since I knew I was in, I put it out of my mind.

But, the inner-self is busy churning adreneline, which wears me out. The adrenals were working while I was sitting in the garage waiting to race. I know a few racers who'll actually fall asleep during long gaps between races from the mental exhaustion of waiting.

As soon as I rolled out of the garage the adrenaline is put to use and I am absolutely fine, relaxed even.

Well my advice for the joking around part is that if you make a joke you can never go wrong by making Pete (oreogaborio) your punch line.

As for racing advice, I echo everything that has already been said. Take your time, get to know the track and your bike in a racing scenario.

Glad i'm worth somethin to ya, ya fucker

Rick... you got any guys up there that have already been through it all that you can hang out w/ & talk to? That's been the biggest help for me is just seeing these guys go through it all & knowing my friends are there if i need something... which is often But they're always there to lend a helping hand & I always try & help them back where I can.

I assume you've done trackdays, correct? I'm just gonna treat my first race weekend like a few trackday sessions w/ the exception of a standing start & no restrictive passing rules. I'll probably be riding at 9/10ths for my first couple races just so my brain can keep up w/ what's going on & not get myself into trouble. I just gotta keep tellin myself that it's all about havin fun right now, not winning... that comes later.

Having a team is an important part of racing successfully, IMHO. And it makes being at the racetrack waaaay more fun.

I was hanging out with Low Down Racing at the last race of last year. I worked with heath Smith and still work with Ben Torrence. So i'll prolly pit by those guys. (don't hold that against me) We should definatly have an NESR who's who excuse to drink beer one night that weekend.

    Season's coming - train!

Come to think of it lately the biggest training i've been doing is on my spending habbits. Transfering ballances to 0%APR, paying off debt, stuffing money asside for the season and cutting back on expenses like eating out, drinking, and gas in the truck now that it's riding season.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

    Season's coming - train!

I bought a mountain bike and started riding a little after work to build up some endurance and leg muscles.

.....My liver has got a great tolerance for all the Captn and Cokes I'll have to endure at night too. I've been working on that since like October.
