While it's a cool bike / company / concept / achievement / whatever you want to call it.... they have yet to turn a wheel in anger, how again is the C1 in any way / shape / form a "racer"?

Did anyone watch this last night? I thought it was really good. You have to give the guy credit. What he is trying to do is awesome! I hope he can pull it off.
I just wonder why he is trying to take on a project like this and put that kind of time frame on it? Why shoot for the top level? Why not make the bike sound first then try and find a place to race it?
