    Re: Signing up for contingencies

the steps involved depends on the product, some companies you actually have to register with first (pirelli did it online, but that may have changed in the past couple years). then you need to fill out a contingency form with your race reg. you should only have to do this once a season, unless your contingency sponsors change. then, in the garages, you fill out a form and are "verified" as having the correct decals etc, you do this part every weekend.

Be sure to apply with factory sponsors who require annual registration, put your sponsors on the Sponsor Listing form, and turn in your completed Contingency Claim Forms every weekend during Tech inspection.

Remember - CCS stickers must be attached on both sides of your bike to quality for all contingencies. (ASRA Pro series riders must also attach ASRA and Michelin Pro Series stickers) Compliance will be verified when your bike is inspected in Tech.

on a side note, if you are able to be verified during tech, make sure you take your lower with you if that is where your decals reside.

Thank you for the info so far.

Suffice to say it's pretty much a pain in the ass until the "paperwork" is located and completed.

    David is correct.

If you come to the Boston Moto trailer during the race weekend (BEFORE you race), we will get you situated for Pirelli contingency. We will sign you up on the website and get your forms filled out for you. Takes 5 minutes. of course, this is for Pirelli riders only (DUH!)

Well worth it. Your time is worth $. Why not collect on it. With the economy every $1 is worth something.

They pay you to race. Where do I sign up.

You have time to do it now.

Some companies have you register on line. Most do not.

    Re: Signing up for contingencies

You also need to see the contingency man in the tech garage to confirm you have your stickers/ products on your bikes. Pirelli and others won't pay you if you don't. Most also require you to list them as sponsors on your result sheet.

    Re: Signing up for contingencies

I know someone that did not submit for contingency in DAYTONA. I found out after his race that he did not fill out the contingency forms at the track. I could have killed him. Big pay out for being an AM National Champion. No $ for him.

SO DO IT if you don't think otherwise.

Bring your VIN with you, it is required on the forms and is a big PITA to read from the plate on your frame while trying to fill out the forms.

    Oi? VIN? Really?

I have 3 frames at the moment, 2 with titles, 1 unknown. Is this about the time I'd want to run that VIN through the local PD?

Wouldn't that only be needed if your going for manufacturer contingency money?

    Re: Signing up for contingencies

It was needed for VP last year, and any CCS form wants it.

That's why I was reading the darn thing while sitting on it in the tech garage.

Hint: take an extra form, fill out all info except for the date, make at least 8 photo copies and bring them with you every race weekend.

I would contact the board cops and ask nicely if they would run your vins for you.
