    Silicone (Not the bewbies kind)

For bolts that cant be safety wired and silicone is going to be used, is there a specific type, or can I go into an auto parts store and say, hello shopkeep, I would like to purchase some silicone, and not the kind to enhance my bust.

I've mostly seen it used on cam bolts and valve cover bolts.

Torque things per manufacturer's spec and you won't have a problem.

Mine are the two bolts/covers/I dunno what to call them, on the case of the RMZ. Theres oil behind there, but they're recessed so I dunno how I could wire them. And Eric had them siliconed last year.

Where'd dollah say anything about internal engine components? I just figured this had to do with something that was required to be wired/siliconed.

    Nowhere at all.

Didn't know that he was looking to secure recessed bolts. Must be a Skuzuki thing, with the recessed bolts and all...

Maybe you should "clean Up" This thread because Bergs posted in it.

Re: Silicone (Not the bewbies kind)

dude, I'm not safety wiring or siliconing every bolt that holds on each engine case. It doesn't say to do that anywhere in the rules, just the drain bolts/oil filter bolts etc

Not all the case bolts. Theres 2 fucking huge ass bolts, recessed into the center of the case. Those. Oil is behind them. Eric siliconed them. I figure I will as well.

Re: Silicone (Not the bewbies kind)

If you have a Honda with those covers, buy billet ones asap, the stock ones are super brittle and crack if you so much as look at them funny. As far as safety wiring them... beats me?

Re: Silicone (Not the bewbies kind)

Drill in from the top plane at an angle, to the hex hole, then wire tie to the nearest post.

    KB did mine.

If you would like, I can explain what happens when you just silicone it like WERA made me do... and then I thought I was OKEY dokey...

Two years later.....WHAM! WTF was that all about?

    Oh, about $350 + pain.

Re: Silicone (Not the bewbies kind)

you better do something about that oil filler cap too.

Best thing is to wire them together.
