Lrrs tests fuel randomly pretty often. I got checked at least 7 times last year and every time I placed on a SS race.
ASRA weekends you can still get checked by CCS. Also ASRA checked the top 3 finishers for weight. I don't remember of they took fuel samples though.
I'll never understand cheating. You actually changed the course of history and if you won, you really didn't.. I'm sure for cheaters it wouldn't matter
Ah, for some reason I though I remembered something about not wanting to discourage ASRA racers(who might be tuned to other fuels) from coming and competing.

CCS/LRRS dont check fuel during the ASRA races at NHMS.
I could have protested it. I thought the cost to protest was $100 (but it's actually cheaper), and the prize money was $100. so i didnt bother.
i'm more annoyed that he cheated again and this time got caught, and that he associates with a known cheater. like it was mentioned earlier, why bother at the club level?

If your protest is upheld you get your money back.
At the club level it's important to adhere to the spec fuel rule for a number of reasons.
1. Fairness.
2. Keep some sort of control on costs....some of the exotic rocket fuels are $20-$50 per gallon
3. While smelling any fuel (burnt and un-burnt) is not good - some of the more exotic fuels out of the exhaust pipe are extremely carcinogenic.... and in close racing you may have your face right near a competitors exhaust.
4. They ARE ALL BANNED for sale by the State in New Hampshire ON OR OFF ROAD
ps over the years testing fuels. (as far back as early 70's in dirt Speedway) - it's typically the back-markers that cheat - thinking " it will give ME an advantage" - forgetting there is no substitute for skill & experience. Top runners fuel is always SPOT ON.

only if you smell!
Seriously, with the spec fuel rules it is easy to spot any cheater!
