Re: Stoner to retire end of 2012

his personality sucks but he's still my favorite to watch on track because of his incredible bike control. If he had stuck around for a few more years I bet people would have started to lump him in with the greatest of all time.

Sucks he's leaving cause we could always use more pics of his wife

Hopefully Marquez, if he keeps it upright this year.

Maybe this will help drive some rule changes for 2013.

Re: Stoner to retire end of 2012

"Repsol protege Marc Marquez, the 2010 125cc champion and current Moto2 series leader, would appear to be the leading candidate to fill the vacancy, although Lorenzo has also been linked with a switch from the factory Yamaha squad and the Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the year."

I believe they've gone on record saying he's never welcome back at Honda?

I heard he left an upper decker in Takanobu Ito's private bathroom in the Honda headquarters.

They're now on record saying with Stoner leaving, they have to re-evaluate that stance.

can't be Marquez next year. He'd be a rookie and rules say rookies can't have a factory seat.

There has been some speculation about Repsol being able to get that rule changed.

Re: Stoner to retire end of 2012

Now I am curious...is that upper decker story true?

On with the matter at hand: something must have gone wrong with Honda for Stoner to come out saying things like "There are a lot of things that have disappointed me, and also a lot of things I have loved about this sport, but unfortunately the balance has gone in the wrong direction"
