    SuMo??

we need this shit out east!!! other than insurance (ha!) it can't be much to get something like this together... compared to a full-scale SuMo or roadracing track.

We have a carting track up here but it isn't really good for big bikes. Too tight. But great for mini motards.

    Re: SuMo??

Got to find a karting track that wants supplemental income. All the SuMo stuff out here runs in conjunction with karting stuff. Like in that vid we ran 20 minute sessions then karts ran 20 minute sessions. Some of the karts were privately owned and some were 'Arrive and Drive' (open to public) setups. Similar to Grange (karts and bikes) and Willow Springs karting track. Hell Adams also has Thursday night drift car nights where you can show up in your Ford Fiesta and play Ken Block.

Next Saturday there is a parking lot supermoto race in San Diego... the supermoto guys linked up with.. you guessed it, a karting org that was already doing races in the parking lot.

With all the mofo's going out of biz and desperate for money there has to be ONE karting track that's up for it.

F1 Boston in Bridgewater would be awesome. However the owner is a 100% car guy (pro car racer) and they are not a small 'mom and pops' track that's in dire need of additional income.

I completely agree. I tried to talk to them about pocket bikes over 6 years ago. Were not really interested. S-Moto would be the ideal fit. Hell I would even pick one up if it came around here.

From my conversations with them, and others trying to get mini-moto going there, he is paranoid about pegs/axles/etc damaging the track in crashes or just normal parts dragging in turns.

Many tracks fear this and is why they require axle, peg and other sliders on sumo's. They're cheap and easy to apply. I have sliders on my bars, pegs and axles.
Most sumo crashes are slow speed and don't tumble much.

But they still damage the track FAR more than karts, which is where the concern stems from. Hell, one joker running race gas can hole a track in VERY short order with a minor spill.

Josh Herrin's family owns a karting track in Georgia. They have some paved jumps and stuff. Smaller scale, but they have it.

Talk of a track in San Diego opening up with that stuff but they haven't even broken ground.
