    Sumo at loudon

    Just spreading the word.

Adam Clark of Turn 1 racing fame is putting on a supermoto event for lrrs. Going to be Saturday night after the dash. 2 classes... big bike (250cc and up) and little bike (under 250cc). Layout is going to be similar to the classic race that smec ran.

Cheap money. $50 to race. Need an lrrs license. Heard there was monies donated for a payout.

Sounds like fun. Go race your pit bike, then get some grub at Mike Clark's benefit bbq.

Maybe I heard it wrong, but I think the two classes are big bikes and minis.

That's how the classes are listed on Trackintel, 'Open' and 'Super Mini'.

Neat, my smoker is listed as legal for Open and Flat Track... Also Combined 500 Supersport... er... dunking on EX500 time?

    Isn't that what I said? I assume a mini is under 250

Depends on the org, sometimes it's under 250, sometimes it's smaller than 150Rs...

Any rulebook for this? I'm not sure on the requirements for setting a bike up, tires, etc...

I e-mailed Anne-Marie, but she is out of the office this week.

At a minimum: Not knobbies, use track approved coolant (aka just switch to water), safety wire your drains, fills and brake caliper bolts.

Note, this is not official, this is just general sumo racing common sense.

Maybe I read it funny, but aren't 250's actually like 249's? I just wanted to be clear that it's big bike and small bike classes, not a 450 and 250 structure.

    Thanks!

Kind of what I figured, but I always like to know the details.

Any ideas on where to get sumo tires for a CRF 100 other than on-line? Would a Cycle Gear or local dealer carry them you think?

Ask kurtz, he might be able to order some for next week.
