No, not difficult. In my years racing I saw MANY more minor injuries, serious injuries, and fatalities than I have in my years doing trackdays. That is a weak justification. I will say though, that the trackdays I attended in CA were far crazier than what I see in the northeast. Perhaps it depends a little on where you are. BUT the stats are going to show racing to be wildly more dangerous. Enjoy.
